Currently playing: Master Key
Studio: Achromi
Genre: action rpg (zeldalike)
Features: Actually it's inaccurate to say I'm currently playing Master Key because I just finished it. I wish I could keep playing it though, because it was fantastic. Designed as a love letter to link to the past by single dev Achromi, you play a little fox who goes around clearing dungeons and exploring for some reason. I don't know the reason because there is no text in this game - you can talk to townsfolk and other characters, but you are silent (as you should be) and they only speak in emojis. As you might expect, the game also heavily emphasises puzzle solving, and using the tools you get in unconventional ways.
Dislikes: the monochrome 8 bit aesthetic is annoying, and the player space is zoomed in way too far considering the lack of detail. Most annoyingly this extends to the map too - when you fully zoom out on it you can still only see about a third of the map, it's very frustrating. I also don't like the emoji speak, but I do prefer it to walls of text.
Metacritic: Don't care. It's very positive on Steam.

Currently Playing: Doom Eviternity
Genre: 1st-person shooter
Features: Basically classic Doom with some new levels, enemies, and textures.
Dislikes: A few technical issues. I have to play on ZDoom on a Windows VM because some doors and switches don't activate with Crispy Doom on Linux.
Trailer:
If you love Classic Doom, it will keep you busy forever.

I gotta check it out. I love classic doom but didn't really get too into the side project scene.vOnly one I played was DoomRL. On the subject of doom have you played Jupiter Hell? I recently started Quasimorph and it reminds of it.

Would love to see more variety from the Doom franchise. I saw Microsoft built a new studio focusing on AA titles. A Starcraft Tower defense or a Doom Vampire Survivors clone would be cool. Especially with the amount of lore, demons, and locations they can add. If I wasn't a retard I would try to learn how to program it myself.

Also, love seeing what everyone is playin made some notes of stuff that seemed interesting. Look forward to see what else other kiwi's are enjoying.

I forgot to include my quotes to my previous post.
Currently Playing: Ghost of Tsushima on PC
Studio: Sucker Punch
Genre: action-RPG
Features: stylish eye-pleasing good port with one of the best battle systems I have ever seen
Dislikes: characters and story are written by 12 year olds
Metacritic: idgf
Trailer: you know that game without it
How is the PC performance? I have the PS4 version and haven't upgraded to 5. I enjoyed the over all look and gameplay of it from when I first played it.
Currently Playing: Kenshi
Studio: Lo-Fi Games
Genre: Open-world sandbox RPG with RTS elements

Features: The story is entirely up to you, there are no real quests or end goals and discovery is a reward in itself. The entire world is explorable and viable for anything you want to do and is remarkably beautiful despite its limitations. A deep backstory is told through the environment and landscape.

Dislikes: Beak Things, getting stuck on rocks to be beaten by Skin Bandits. Also really in an unfinished state, mods are essential for a proper experience.

Metacritic: 75. Overall it's like a Zen garden or bonsai of games, the meaning and interpretation and what you do is based entirely on your own values.
This game is amazing. I have 20 hours over about 4 play throughs, mostly all trial and error, and it was a blast. It's on par with RimWorld imho in the term of story creation. Just the situations and exploration you can do. Character creator alone is like if Spore's character creator had sex with oblivions. I can't with for Kenshi 2

Currently Playing: Forza Horizon 4
Genre: Racing
Studio: Microsoft studios/Playground Games
Features: Extensive Car collection, large map, visually appealing/decent graphics if you're into that kind of stuff
dislikes: grindy af, and the fact that the game is about to be delisted
Reviews: Very Positive

Currently playing: Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader
Genre: turn based RPG
Studio: Owlcat games
Features: you can kill the mutant. Burn the heretic. Purge the unclean. Or surrender yourself to ruinous powers. Or be a filthy xenophole
dislikes: still in somewhat buggy state as of now.
Reviews: positive

The optimisation seems excellent.
Sony Interactive gets credit for taking the time to produce well-optimized PC ports for some of its biggest games: God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, etc. Many companies don't do that, and it shows.

Didn't horizon have a rough launch on PC? Also, I'm not sure and too lazy to google but do they do that in house or do they let another party port it? I know they are secretive with some of their stuff but wasn't 100% if it's the same team. I think Kojima Production handled the PC port but not sure of the others. I have a PS5 so I play most of the first party titles there but with traveling coming up I've been trying to find something to take on the road since Chiki gives me issues with streaming. I've been leaning towards either Returnal or Ghosts of Tsushima.

I will say for as shitty as a company Microsoft/Windows is it is nice with having cross buy and save/progression with xbox and windows.

This game looks tight. It was on my radar recently when trying to find something new to play. I started a session on Gladius which is another turn based 40k game and so far it's not bad. I just suck at stopping those just one more turn games though so I've been avoiding playing it before bed. I'll probably grab it next sale or will inevitably get in in Humble Choice since they have a knack with stuffing in 40k and Yakuza games when they need to fluff em out.

I don't remember if H:ZD had a bad launch; I got to it some time after went to PC.

There's a high chance Sony Interactive does the ports themselves unless, as you pointed out, there are studios, Kojima Productions, who can be trusted to deliver.
I never played it on PC, does it really ran as good as Tsushima?
H:ZD and Tsushima ran great with my 3080 Ti. Depending on your specs, your mileage will vary.

Dope that they are at least doing decent ports. I picked up Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers. It's Balataro if it was blackjack focused. It has some quirks but has been fun.
Currently Playing:Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers
Studio:Purple Moss Collectors
Genre: Roguelike Deckbuilder
Features: Gambling and deckbuilding with runs,
Dislikes: Once you can find a winning built its hard to move from it.

Trials of Mana - the remake. It's actually non-censored (amazing how fast Squeenix have fallen) with giant boobage everywhere.
The music isn't horribly butchered from the original.
It's a pretty good story and fun to play up until the point where you have to travel the world and fight eight bosses (where I am now).
It's been a bit of a slog, but I think I'm near the end (though I'm not sure).

so, i mentioned here that i want a Hotline Miami style FPS with open-world elements, this game is Hotline Miami in FPS without the open-world i wanted. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3303790/Death_Delivery/
