What are you reading right now?

The Player of Games, 2nd book in the Culture series.

Loved the first one (Consider Phlebas), this one is looking to be just as good.

I usually read several books at the same time. Right now I'm reading 1984 by Orwell, The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway and Midnight in Siberia. I've also been reading the Bible from the beginning and right now I'm a few chapters into Numbers.

I like 1984 and I really like Hemingway's book and need to read more of his books.

Midnight in Siberia is a travelogue of an American journalist traveling on the Trans-Siberian Railroad from Vladivostok to Moscow. He makes the trip twice, his most recent trip was in 2013. I'm reading this book because I'm interested in Russia and last Saturday I heard an interview about the book on NPR.

I finished The Stand so now I'm going to start a new, non-Stephen King book. I'm thinking I'm going to read Suttree or Angela's Ashes. I'll probably do the latter first because its a bit shorter although the premise of Suttree is intriguing.

I have way too many books lying around my dorm room. I need to finish the ones I have now or else my bibliomania will get the better of me.

I've been on a bit of Stephen King binge lately and now I'm reading Firestarter. I have to say, Stephen King has some serious writing chops. You look at all the books he's put out and you think that he's one of those quantity over quality guys, but that is not the case.

He's not the greatest writer ever though. He has a tendency to be formulaic and he draws things out more than they need to be. Still though, I have to give credit where credit is due.
Have you read doctor sleep by king?

It goes down hill a bit fast. Should have been written at least 20 something years ago. But there are some quality parts.

I'm rereading The Disaster Artist again. I can't get away from it, it's such a fun book to read.

Started on Erik Larson's Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania yesterday. Only appropriate, since yesterday was the centennial of the sinking. Liked his Devil in the White City, and this one so far is just as engrossing.

Now I'm reading Suttree and I just read a part wherein a character has intercourse with several watermelons. I think I know which of Cormac McCarthy's books is his magnus opus now.

Yesterday, I finished reading Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla. Great book, very psychological. I'm tempted to read Bram Stoker's Dracula but it may be a bit too long for me.

Still reading A Song of Ice and Fire.
I'm warming up a bit on Eddard Stark, but I know he's gonna die soon enough, so I don't care that much.
The chapters between characters are well laid out enough to keep me reading for more Daenerys.
All in all, great book so far.

Old ghost stories in an anthology by Herbert Van Thal, and a victorian ghost book by Margaret Oliphant.

Started reading the first chapter of my Corporate Finance textbook online. My professor wanted it done prior before coming to class in about a week or so. It's mainly accounting and economics review anyway.

I'm currently reading 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss.

It's amazing.
