What are you reading right now?

Recently purchased Cormack McCarthy's "The Road" after seeing it suggested as a must read (on Reddit, I think) a few days back?

I started the graveyard shift last night and I've been reading that the past 7hrs. I'm little under 100 pages in, took me some time to get used to how the author writes.. Hope to finish it on Friday if work ain't TOO busy. Unless I finish it before then.

Love it. He wrote it for his son, I believe. He found it hard to tell his son how much he loved him, and The Road was his way of letting him know (not sure where I read/heard that).

Awesomely written, and the end kicked me straight in the feels.

I have a few Cormac McCarthys lined up in the "to be read" pile, but I still feel guilty about stopping 80% of the way through Blood Meridian.

The second night of reading it i found it a lot easier to read. You can tell there was a lot of love in the relationship in the book. A few times in their little conversations I felt my heart break, and that rarely happens to me.

Edit: I haven't finished it yet, due to work being busy at the weekends, but I'll finish it between sunday and thursday.

Now that I have time I can finally keep reading A Confederacy of Dunces.

Ignatius is essentially me if I was fatter, read more /pol/ and didn't have a job.

I've had a crazy itch for police procedurals lately, so I've been re-reading the Peter Grant series by Ben Aaronovitch. Think CSI meets Harry Potter set in London as a London Met constable joins up with the division that investigates magic crime. Also, all the talk in the Unpopular Opinions about Game threads has me wanting to read the next book in the Revelation Space series which I never got around to doing. So I'm doing that too.

I hated the movie. It made little sense to me. How can you infections yourself, get better and the infected not kill you? So basically it's like a vaccines.

The book is good, really well thought out and written sadly the sequel only had 1.5 storys in it that where any good... fucking vampires I ask you.

Oh how I pity the people who got the sequel. I hated the movie, but the book is awesome

Yea I was one of them I found World War Z about a month before the sequel came out and thought well that was a blast and was really really let down.
A friend got me the the comic version of his older book's "Recorded attacks" that was interesting and rather fun, sadly nothing will erase the sodding vampires or guy stuck in a toilet pulling his pud from my mind they where just awful.

I wish it was just better executed. Kinda like how Zoo by James Patterson wasn't executed well. It had potential, but it was lost.

I'm currently reading:
A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny

After that, I'm going to re-read Uzumaki by Junji Ito, and The Abyss by Steve Vance.
