what are your specs?

AMD Ryzen 7 1800X (Overclocked 4.20 GHz.)
32 GB RAM 2400 MHz.
Geforce GTX 1060 Gaming X
MSI A320M Pro-VH

Recently upgraded nearly everything on christmas, from a potato to a "beast". It's a really huge difference when sitting for years infront of a PC that even lagged on nearly every game to 60+fps every game.

Nah, the MSI Click Bios on that board can do it just as fine and easy for OCing. Yes, sadly I cant put a boost to my RAM on this.
Though, which B350 Motherboard you're talking about? The MSI B350 Tomahawk or the ASUS Prime B350-Plus?
Originally, I was going for the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC but it was sold like some others as my alternative buy, so I had to go with my recent one which I got for a "steal and a half", literally.
I'm still kind of deciding, if I really want to go for it to this time.

Thats a really low end board you have. From what I knew the 320 series shouldnt be able to oc at all. Definitely not good enough for a 1800x.
If I were you I would go for a x370. If you can still find em, most of them are pretty cheap and have better vrm than the b350 and can definitely handle a 1080x better.
I bought an x370 asrock gaming 4k fatality for 99, some months ago. Or just wait for the new 500 mobos.

i7-7700 @3.6GHz
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
16GB 2400MHz RAM

It could be better, but compared to the absolute potato I had for years that could barely play games from the mid-2000s, the difference is like night and day.

Computer issues from last year made me a console gamer. My desktop is all fixed and I haven't even turned it on for months, let alone played games. I'm literally afraid it's just going to explode now, even though it played everything I ever wanted to play (Mad Max, GTA V, etc) just fine before.

Hmm, when you telling me that this board I own should not even succeed that amount of OC, I think I will immediatly make changes and settle it down to its orginal core to 3.6 GHz. Breaking new hardware down to an extend would be last thing I do. Thanks for the advice, and the Mobo recommendation as well!

What happened to your desktop to make you go back to consoles?

I think it is better that you go back to stock. I checked out the board and I dont think it can handle an 8 core at 4ghz in the long run. You should also check your temps after a session, prefereably with hwinfo which gives you even motherboard temps. If you have doubtz on what to buy, you can ask no problem.

Massive Windows corruption. That resulted in me having to wipe and restart everything twice within a 2 month period before having to hire a computer guy to come and clean out the corruption and replace the entire hard-disk.

And then because of one crash (IE, improper turn off and restart), it got corrupted again right away (luckily it was still covered by warranty) and now I'm just too afraid to turn it on at all.

I had to restart GTA V like twice because I had two save files, and eventually just bought it for PS3 and finally finished it there.

Basically just stuck with what I posted before, Team Red all day.

Ryzen r5 2600
Gigabyte rx 580 8g
16g Corsair RAM
b450m Bazooka from MSI
with an RGB keyboard I got on sale

Put it together over the holidays, I'm pretty happy with it.

Team Red also:

Ryzen 5 1600@3.8 GHz
PowerColor Red Devil RX Vega 64
EVGA 16GB DDR4
B450 Tomahawk-MSI

I have a Corsair K70 Lux keyboard with a razer Naga mouse. Panel is 1440p 144hz Freesync with a Corsair HAF case.

Maybe there was something causing all those crashings.
Pc gaming is nice but I dont think it is ideal for people who dont know how to put together one, or dont know much about components.

I basically scrimped and saved for like 2 years to build this rig. I don't do 4k because I don't think its worth it, and I'd rather have a longer life-span for games, since 1440p is fine for me. With my monitor though, I'm basically eternally stuck to NVIDIA cards.

Yeah, I was told it was a long and steady bout of corruption finally culminating.

I don't disagree, and probably nothing would happen. As I said, every game I ever wanted to play was fine, and the PC had no heating or physical issues past just degradation.

But hi, I'm the most paranoid person on planet Earth. Nice to meet you. Can't help it.
