what are your specs?

I have a new life goal and that’s to one day build a PC that looks like a Borg cube

https://mycherrytree.com/product-category/components/

I’ll get one of these cool Borg cube cases and one of the NZXT AIO coolers with the screen that you can display gifs on and then put a gif of the green lightning effect from the charging stations on there. Also the real industrial looking non-RGB Corsair Vengeance ram would look pretty cool...

Unfortunately these cases are pretty expensive and I don’t have much money atm so RIP
I wish England gave out stimmy cheques like America.

Nice, I have two of those now. One with a Ryzen 3 I've been using for multimedia/gaming on my living room tv and just got another one with a low power pentium cpu I'm planning to use as an always on media server at home.

I was going to snort and chuckle but then I looked online and saw what they cost. They're at least $15 more expensive than when they were released and some of them are using DDR3 instead of GDDR5.
i know it's a old message but that's the gen1 GT1030 which is basically a budget 1050, so much so that nvidia capped 1030 after a while. i managed to get mysizelf the GDRR5 nividia version for cheap and noticed that the parts seller only started to sell the GDDR4 ones at the end of 2020, lol.

Ryzen 5 1500x
8+4GB's 2133 DDR5
GT1030 2GB GDDR5

poorfag modern-stuff build basically. had to sell my pentium4 and ddr2 rams for a upgwade, will only need to change the GPU in the future because zen1 ryzen has no integrated vydia.

It still runs baby! Somehow.

Intel Q85 Express Chipset
Core i5-4570
16GB 1600mhz SDRAM
Linux Mint (live-session user) ISO on USB 3.0 thumb drive.
NO hard drive installed.

It's small, quiet and more than adequate for my general PC use.

This is a clever idea that I want to steal. What model is that?
I beg your pardon, it's actually a 10.1" panel, it's a Samsung DB10D, my bad. Technically, it's a "Smart Signage" commerical display, but I imagine any small display with HDMI/DisplayPort would behave the same way.

Complete shit because I'm a third world poorfag in a country that has a 50% tax on imports and 21% VAT so everything is expensive as fuck while wages are shit, and you can't import used stuff either, FML

My main is a gaming laptop I bought in 2013 that cant run any AAA games anymore. Win10 and running like crap, should probably format and start again.

The other is an old ass desktop. Dont even bother using it for games but linux instead, runs okay tho it was a bitch to get it working with the radeon GPU because of the shit drivers, should've gone with an nvidia instead but amd was cheaper and again money. One of my RAM sticks died so I'm down to 8GB. Dont know if I should even bother to buy another given this thing is 10 years old

Need to buy more storage, main HDD I'm sure its about to shit the bed, should've upgraded months ago before local prices went through the roof because the peso shat the bed again

If you don't mind me asking where are you from, that import fee and VAT are pretty high.

You forgot the 45~% price differential on real vs "pretend" currency conversion which will fuck you over even further.

You honestly have only two choices; you either buy black market smuggled goods from a known local website with an orange UI and pray that it doesn't explode; or you start working part/full-time for an international clientele and then only withdraw your dolarinos/buy hardware in Uruguay.

Or just move to Uruguay and stop suffering.

Anyway back to pc dox.
