What causes newfags to integrate poorly? - The scientific process behind Eternal Septemberism?

Got nothing really special to add.
Just the fact these new people that hop on to this site probably believe 100% of what some twitterfag, redditor, or journalist about it being some underground neo-nazi safeplace. Not even bothering learning that this is just a simple gossip site and not even bothering reading the rules at the bottom while shitting up the various threads (sometimes deliberately) thinking they won't get a ban hammer.
Also attention seekers making either throwaway accounts to obviously start some shit or wear down on the moderators patience on yet another age of consent thread.
Plus I also blame modern internet faggotry in general. Mostly the people expecting things to be like a discord server, twitter, bluesky, or 4chan thread, suddenly start sperging the fuck out that people on here disagree with them (or encounter the hulkster) and instead they try to double down.
Don't get all fomo about it most forums sucked ass for many of the same reasons reddit etc sucks and it's what also makes this site special: jannies.
Oh yea abso-fucking-lutely the deal breaker for this site. Shout out to the jannies for being jannies and not power tripping fags abusing their powers for petty shit, love you guys.

I think it's because no one can be bothered to read.
I fully believe that this is a core underlying factor. Reading and writing are dwindling skills among new generations (but especially Americans; the bulk of this forum) and a platform whose entire life depends on those skills is naturally going to suffer. Other social media platforms rewards fast (discord), simple (twitter), and abundant (tiktok) messaging to hold attention spans and spread ideas. The Kiwi Farms is older, relying on users to provide well thought out posts for the continuous creation of content. Younger and younger people simply don't interact with media and platforms at the same depth others once did and that is obvious when they come into these spaces.

1. People don't lurk moar
2. Chan holdouts, expect this to get worse when 4Chan inevitably dies
3. Assuming they're a Zoomer, lack of exposure to forum style content.
4. No one reads anything anymore, I've seen this happen in threads here, someone will throw out the word "Pedo" without evidence and suddenly the cow is now worse than Hitler
5. Adding onto that, people do not respect each other anymore.
6. No irony, everything is serious city business. No one can leave anything behind at the computer anymore.
7. Indians and Chinese

I'm a enigma since a lot of these apply to me (Besides 7)
In other words, I'm pretty much in agreement with what you guys are saying.

Exactly why zoomers need to lurk more before posting.
Well I started lurking about 2022(?) so I'd still say I'm somewhat new.

Sad but true, I've seen it happen. Heartbreaking post though, way to break my balls man.

I think it's because no one can be bothered to read. They don't read threads all the way through (Yes, some of them are very long, get over it) and then ask dumb shit that has been addressed twenty times before. Because they get clocks or trash cans, their autism goes into overdrive trying to get a dopamine rush, which makes the problem worse.
"However will I speed up the process of answering my questions and finding important info in this thousand page long thread?"

I wish it wasn't. If society and government could reorient itself into seeing the dangers of digital short form dopamine farms and actually reinvest in education and vocations we wouldn't be anywhere near this mess in what is essentially a golden age of humanity. But alas Tech-CEO and High-Ranking government official are basically indistinguishable nowadays.

I don't intend to break new users balls, however. If you speak well, are conscientious and know where to post, then you'll fit right in.

I pray so. But who knows, even though the pendulum swings back it's still the rotting corpses at the top making decisions in favor of themselves and their parties. Granted most of those decisions are better than the ones the other guys were making but were still not really getting to the heart of the issues. It doesn't help that you only have extremes like how there's only pundits who still think like Lieberman or Krugman about technology and don't know anything about a computer screen besides Facebook or manchildren like Elon who use the internet for all the wrong reasons. I wish I shared my father's optimism about the state of things, but I still can't help but realize how screwed everything is.

"No way. Things are just gonna get worse and keep on getting worse. Like I said, America's a third world country as it is and... and we're just basically in a hopeless situation as it stands"

Is some of this because people don't like differing opinions of the newer users? I get a feeling this is part of it.

When you have something opened to the public anyone can come in. That's kind of the point. You could always turn the forum into a closed society. What will happen is it will be stale and boring. The forum will eventually die. This is what happens to echo chambers. No one likes echo chambers and hugboxes. Not even the people who claim to like them. Look how many leftist hug boxes and echo chambers have failed. They usually return to the platform opened to the general public.

I believe there's some God-given form of competition and disagreement within humanity, we need conflict for growth. When nothing is questioned or challenged it stagnates. This site would not be half the one it is or nearly as tight-knit if stuff like DropKiwiFarms didn't happen.

I wasn't specifically talking about politics board users though I guess they're worth a mention.

The issue that people have with A&N users isn't the content of their posts or their viewpoints; they learn so hard right it's silly, but they generally stay in their own subforum and are decent enough to actually try and back up their viewpoints with rational reasoning and ideas when confronted.

What people don't like about the politics board users is an endemic behavior I like to call drive-by threadshitting, where someone will show up in a thread, talk some shit to everyone, and then abscond. It's low-effort garbage that is designed to emotionally vindicate the poster and get everyone else mad at them for a while. It's stupid behavior that is unbecoming of a discussion forum and it hurts the readability of threads. Just check the highlights of any long-running politics thread and you'll see. It's especially a big problem in lolcow threads because they're enshrined places of criticism, but the old DJT thread and current Elon Musk thread have whiteknights showing up every now and then to do drivebys.

It is comical how underprepared the education system is for modern social media/AI brainrot. I got out of HS just as TikTok shit was taking hold and from what I've heard it's downright apocalyptic.

they want niggercattle to fry their brains, any way they can. someone whos brain is fried on weed, drugs, shortform media, porn, etc, is not someone who is politically aware, much less active. the ideal state for tptb is for the average person to wake up, drive alone to work, work in a wage cage never seeing another person, drive home alone, consume drug of choice to vent frustration, sleep and repeat.

It takes a rare breed to possess both the requisite latent unhinged schizo energy and moral fortitude of not being a disgusting pedo sympathizer.

Sad day in age.

Like others have said, lurking to understand how a website works is important to integrating without making an ass of yourself. People, at least here, who tend not to lurk and just jump right in are
  • morons connected to drama that come here for attention
  • morons connected to drama that come here for homosexual operations
  • teenagers that found the site because of a streamer they follow or a discord group they’re in and want to post epic-style
  • political spergatrons from a chan or chan-adjacent community that want somewhere to immediately dump their high-IQ opinions due to being banned wherever they came from

Over a longer period of time knowledge of forum culture and knowledge is lost and the public perception of this site has also changed. This site is more talked about for hating trannies, being nazis, and politics, then Chris Chan and lolcows nowadays.

Sadly thread disruptions honestly will always occur because you will see people complain about happening posts ruining threads and a lot of the users are not even remotely new. Also if you engage in any of the thunderdome threads you will see old users of post political alignment break containment and shit up the opposing thread.

A lot of new users don't lurk at all or simply think one thread will operate like the others so they are much more likely to be disruptive.

The issue is actually the opposite of what you think it is.

When losers actually care about registration dates and behave like they are the personal arbiters of impermeable forum culture, that's the death rattle of a message board.

People that want to bant and have fun don't care about any of that. They just want to bant and have fun. Inside jokes develop. There is a culture. But it isn't defined. It's in flux. Nobody takes it seriously.

People that can't bant were useful in smaller numbers because they could autistically archive everything so the people that could bant had material to work with.

Now the can't bant population has grown so large that they've sucked all the fun out of the room, which has driven most of the old bant crowd away and turned the direction of the site from laughing at retards to posting giant autistic screeds.

When newfags wander in today, there's nobody to bant on them until they get the point or run scared. There's no halal threads of old. All the current userbase can do is whine and cry to the increasingly gay and parasitic mods to remove those that hurt their feel feels.

Even the dreaded hulkster is just a boring left-leaning sperg that can't bant. He's not gimmick posting, he's not halal material. His sheer dedication to sperging was enduring back in the day.

Alot of newfags are teenagers and like @$5.3 Million Dollars said, alot of them haven't interacted with old forum culture. It's either faggy histrionic censorship, or trash like 4chan. There is also the fact that alot of people here keep feeding the trolls.
