I see many people on here use the acronym RINO, or Republican in Name Only.

What defines a RINO? Being against Trump? Having liberal opinions?

Who is a well known RINO?

Why aren't there DINOs? Democrats in Name Only?

I mean... they kill things, right?

Joking aside, a RINO is a derogatory term to describe a hypocritical republican who CLAIMS to be all for limited government and free speech, but his interior views completely contradict what he believes in and therefore his actions bring out his true self.

RINOS are pretty much Republicans that run on a republican platform, only to vote against what they ran for/kill any republican legislation in an attempt to please Democrats (which 99% of the time doesn’t work). When I think of a RINOS, I think of John McCain and Jeff Flake. People don’t like RINOS because they’re seen as two-faced.

Republicans are by and large for a few core principles. Low taxes, smaller government, limited foreign entanglements, gun rights, and accepting Christian moral philosophy (not necessarily theology mind you) on what constitutes human life.

You deviate a bit and not be a RINO, but then there is John McCain who never met a war he didnt like, was all for expanding the surveillance state, and so on. He was a RINO.

Basically any republican that will claim to be for something but will immediately double back once they get elected.

I.E. I will fight to lower imigration, signs a law to bring in thousands more visas.
I will outlaw third trimester abortions, signs a bill funding planned parent hood
I will fight for your second amendment rights, signs a bill to ban semi auto
so on and so forth.

Now while many politicians will backtrack on a few of their stances a Rino will give on almost all of them.

And then when the warmonger died every media company lined up to eulogise him.
I could stomach McCainn's actions if we could agree he's a traitorous snake who wanted to cement their legacy as "one of the good ones" by future Democrats, and take it for granted he'll vote against his own party on anything meaningful.
Instead, everybody plays along like he's the real conservative in the room at the time, when the only things he's passionate about are tax cuts, costly ground wars for frivolous reasons (he's photographed with ISIS and ISIS accessories ffs) and attacking any Republican with policies that resonate with the public.
