I was just barely too old to get into it. The whole show just felt and still feels really childish.

As for the cringe fandom side, I still feel like the show was Harry Potter for anime spergs, or people who would grow up to become anime spergs.

I liked it; I liked the episode where they used Eastern vs. Western styles and the early seasons.

I can't say much about "Legend of Korra" since I barely saw one episode and online there are too many roleplayers that play Korra with a cock.

It's good...ish.

The first season gets lost in filler occasionally
The Second Season is pretty good
The Final Season has really good moments and some really shit moments at the end.

I haven't seen it since it used to air on TV. I remember liking it back then and the worldbuilding put into it at the time (which hasn't aged well if I remember right) but who knows if I still would like the show as a whole now. All I know is that I watched the Korra sequel series and hated it.

The fanbase has always been Sonic-tier awful but with less furries and more trannies.

I can definitely see the argument that Avatar was a gateway to anime for some people, but aesthetics aside, the character development and writing style felt more Western compared to an anime.

The show itself is definitely geared towards a younger audience but I still found it watchable as an adult.

It was good.

... oh we talk about movie? It was done by a pozzed pajeet with no undertanding of source material so movie sucks ass.

Also earthcucks can't into boulder rain.
Also, dick tip hair for "moon" princess.

Same sentiment @L50LasPak. I was busy playing video games and got to frequent Adult Swim and Toonami, along with OAVs and VHS tapes than to get into Avatar.

Avatar is alright for what it is, but for a lifelong anime hardcore, it's very decisive.

I watched it much later than t came out as I was at the age when it did I thought it seemed lame.

In essence, it is perfectly fine with a couple of sprinkles of stand out elements. Zuko's character arc is really good and the best in the show, imo. Zuko ended up getting sidelined in a stupid end decision though... towards the end you could see them slowly descending into the mindset that brought us fucking Korra.

As the series neared it's end they lost sight of why people liked the characters, specifically Katara. Katara was a human character with strengths and flaws... one of which was not being super talented at bending. This was shown well with her frustration with Aang outpacing her even in waterbending. However, she couldn't remain that way when there is sexism to bring up, oh boy! The culture where woman were expected to just use it for healing and her fighting against that was fine at the time (I can only imagine how terrible it would be written in current year...) but the fact she ended up to be the one to fight and beat fucking Azula was stupid as hell. That should have been Zuko's fight both from a prowess and character standpoint. It also just tossed off Katara's flaw and had her beat a fucking natural prodigy, so guess she's perfect now... girl power! This famously gets hilariously and exponentially surpassed in The Legend of Korra... at least it resulted E;R's videos.

Same as I feel about Harry Potter. Seems like a good show for kids and early teens to get into that might introduce them to a slightly more serious form of storytelling, but it’s a very base level introduction.

People in their 30s and that still watching and gushing over kiddy cartoons and children’s media are pathetic.

Loved the world the first series created, it felt refreshingly different from anything else I'd been watching beforehand. I was willing to put up with it sometimes being too kiddy because of the setting.
Everything made after Aang saved the world is dogshit. It's like the two showrunners both had mild strokes in the aftermath of what they had to deal with on Nick's end to get that third season aired.

It wasn't trannies, it was obnoxious teenagers. I'm sure at least some of you remember the gigglesquee-glomping types who would *holds up spork* at you & will painstakingly explain their elaborate rape fanfiction involving Zuko and Katara. The tranny stuff arrived much later with Korra.
