What do people mean when they call streamer/fans relations parasocial?

It has been a thing since obsessed fans were sending cheesy letters to their favorite celebrities since before the internet. The instant communication thanks to the internet has enabled this more with the new celebrities of this age aka e-celebs.

Grant Amato was probably the worst example of a parasocial relationship gone wrong. He really thought the Bulgarian camwhore he was sending hundreds of thousands of his family's dollars to was going to marry him. When his family caught him and cut him off, he shot them. Looking at the guy, you could tell he was never going to have a chance with a flesh and blood woman, but he could have at least been one of those autists who make a gajillion dollars in a STEM field and then spend it all commissioning cartoon pinups while living in his parent's basement. But he couldn't get his head out of his ass and do any of the required work. Parasocial relationships are just laziness personified. People who don't want to go out into the real world and meet real people.

I only form para-social relationships with parasites who happen to be social, it's an ugly cycle really I don't think that Tapeworm will ever be my IRL gf...
