Of all the things Italians sperg about snapping the spaghetti is the only one with merit, but they make me not care because of how angry they get over it. Same with Asians (especially East Asians) and washing rice, yes you should wash the rice, no you shouldn't get so mad about it, calm the fuck down. When did people go from being happy foreigners are part taking in their culinary culture (even if incorrectly), to indignant and angry if you don't do it 100% correctly, I am Greek, I see people get Greek food wrong all the fucking time, idgaf ,why do so many people act like that.If someone substitutes lard or tallow for olive oil to make it "healthier" or god forbid "taste better".
The other thing is people holding things on a pedestal for no reason, Italians crying about people snaping spaghetty in half or putting the wrong topping on the poorfag flat bread they call pizza, or mutts getting mad someone puts something on their low quality ground meat burgers.
Also tallow is super delicious with veggies, I use lamb tallow, its really nice. But I don't recommend substitute it entirely for olive oil, I've found just adding some with olive oil gives it a nice taste. Combining oils is very helpful, e.g. adding some oil to something that you want to cook in butter will help keep the butter from burning. Mixing different types of fats is very useful.
