Model after examples you like. From what I remember forever ago at the minimum it's vaguely off-putting, clearly differentiate what you get out of it away from the types whose implicit goal is a jerk off session themed with your hobby.

You don't have to participate or interact with the hypersexual retards smothering your hobby, just do your thing as if those guys didn't exist. If you can hold onto what's cool about it for you you can at least find other people who feel the same way. I don't know much about this kigurumi thing, I've seen some pics of the anime mask people before but wasn't aware it had a name. Apparently it's also a line of animal themed onesies?

The whole thing is a bit uncanny valley. I think it would be less off putting if the masks were actual masks instead of faces, like when Hiyori plays the Wano theme in One Piece:

I live by the principle: If my parents, wife, coworkers, friends, priest, enemies, or anyone else saw me doing ______, would I feel the need to hide the activity/objects/history or explain that I'm only adjacent to that thing, and not a part of the degenerate side of it? There are settings for cosplay like conventions, even Halloween where it's totally socially acceptable. But to make it a part of your regular life is odd and goes against normal decent behavior. Things that go against decency tend to attract the indecent.

Buy a used iPad with Pencil and get ProCreate and learn to draw, or buy a digital piano and learn to play that (the skill transfers to acoustic pianos just fine). Normies find artistic/musical talent super impressive, and your face being hideous won’t matter.
