What do you hate about the internet?

The constant vigilance required to keep a handle on one's metadata and maintain security.

Fostering a deep hatred for social media only goes so far.

EDIT: oh, and snowflakes being the arbiters on whether or not I break a TOS. If someone accuses me of homophobic racism when I'm nowhere near it, I should be able to call them a nigger faggot without reprisal.

All this web 2.0 bullshit. It used to be mostly tits, warez, and verbose conspiracy diatribes instead of Netflix, social media and corporate data mining. I blame all those chucklefuck engineers from the mid and early 90s telling everyone that would listen about how amazing this internet thing was going to be. Them and all those engineers in the early 2000s that finally made it easy for all these fat soccer moms and slope headed morons to hop online and ruin yet another good thing for everybody.

social media is the cancer thats slowly killing the net. sites forcing you to use your real name, phone number and post your real adress as well.

The left circle jerk. Then again, A&H is pretty much a right circle jerk. Political circlejerking and political hyperbole.

I hate how the complete access to media enabled by the internet has devalued media and experiences. Example, you used to go and buy an album, a game, a book, it was a physical object that had a special weight and an experience tied to its acquisition that elevated it in your mind. Made it special. Now, you want something, you either download it in seconds or forgo every human aspect of shopping to pick it out of a pull down menu.

It's made things less special, and it's made us all more cynical.

I just hate that websites I like to troll on are getting more heavily moderated and their rules are getting stricter and they're starting to find ways to restrict your posting even if you create accounts with VPNs or proxies, oh and I agree with everyone where you have to have a fucking phone number and your real name and everything too, the normies have no problem with that trying to become "famous" on social media, like I don't give a fuck who you are, I'd rather you be anonymous and just another fucktard on my screen that is only just text.

That they made it easy enough to get on it that now even complete morons are on it.

Even lolcows used to be genius tier intellects before they had dumb pictures on it for normies to look at.

- The decline of subject-specific moderated forums in favor of massive social media sites. The information is completely disorganized, there's no concept of "off-topic", and no way to get rid of retarded users. And also nowhere else to go when a community degenerates into a dumpster fire.

- Tutorials and instructions as YouTube videos. I just want a list of steps, maybe with a few pictures, so I can refer back to it at any point. I don't need ten minutes of some asshole rambling on about irrelevant shit while nothing happens on the screen, sandwiched between telling me to like and subscribe.

- The fact that pretty much every website is constantly shoving stupid articles, news stories, and "trending" content in your face. It's at the point where I have to actually change settings to make my web browser display a blank fucking page instead of the internet equivalent of a supermarket tabeloid.

- People trying to make real-life rules apply to the internet, where things inherently work differently. We are all anonymous by default. Anything you post publically can be read and viewed by anyone, without you knowiing. Anything you release to the public can be saved by somebody else and posted elsewhere at another time. That is just how this system works. Work within and around it instead of crying and throwing a tantrum.

I hate how Silicon valley is trying to water down the internet and halt progress. It goes beyond deplatforming and not letting people curse. There actively keeping us from an age of nihilistic hedonism.

I want a completely unregulated internet. I want a YouTube full of snuff films and hardcore porn sitting next to videos of Idubbbz and Pewdiepie. Because let's stop pretending anyone cares about family values or being friendly online. Its fucking ridiculous. Sites like 8chan and LiveLeak are the future. We need to install these values in children so we can enact a full scale cultural revolution. Accelerationism baby
