I miss the Golden Age creators, like MaxMoeFoe, iDubbbz, Filthy Frank, and even Ethan. Every single one of these guys has been neutered or sold out, and I miss when each of these creators made content that wasn't formulaic or playing it safe. Fuck it, I miss Etika, the realest nigga in the game.

Watching random anime in full, the YouTube Poop heyday, and people making crummy made-for-YouTube fanimes. The latter I assume got replaced with animation memes as time has gone on, but it's so much harder to get any ironic enjoyment out of 10-second loops of someone's bad furry OC head-bobbing compared to people trying really hard to make their own magical girl series entirely with MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker.

Actually the animation meme technically dates back to 2007 with things like the Caramelldansen.

I guess it does technically, though I strongly correlate the phrase "animation memes" with what I described in my original comment. Maybe I've just ruined it for myself though
