I used to really enjoy browsing /x/ a few years ago, so the premise of a show centered all around conspiracies peaked my interest. As we all know, it's current year though, so I kept my expectations low and expected yet another biased propaganda piece.
I was pleasantly surprised by how average it is as opposed to it being your run of the mill Shitflix dumpster fire. Already prepared for it to become one though... What do you guys think?
I'm about 3 episodes in and I don't know yet. I'm not totally over the fact that there's so much potential to make the subject matter funny and original, but instead we get an office comedy with a fair amount of material we've already seen elsewhere. I was hoping for more of a "What We Do In The Shadows" treatment for the masked overlord group instead.
Maybe I'm just showing my bias, but in a comedic sci-fi world. I'd rather watch a crazed scientist with nothing to lose than one who whines about family trauma all the time. I don't really know what this show does that Rick and Morty doesn't already do better yet. I know there are people who it's grown on though. Maybe I just need to give it more time. I like the mushroom.
Just watched the first episode and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the season is decent but I expect it to go downhill season 2 and then season 3 it really hits the fan. That seems to be a common pattern, look at stranger things. I try not to get too attached.
That guy's face is one hell of an Early Life section. Also, he only wrote episode 5: The Brettfast Club so far, which I thought was pretty weak and much more overtly anti-white than the rest. Not surprised now lol.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, I'm the complete opposite though. I like the office setting and how casual everyone is about everything. Reagan being a total fuck-up and dealing with family drama, especially her deadbeat Dad's shenanigans, are some of my favorite moments from the show so far. Her Mom is kinda boring though. It definitely doesn't hold up to early Rick and Morty though, agreed.
