Back when I was younger, I used to think they were cool and had an idea for getting one. But my family is very anti-tattoo, and I also feared the possibility of regretting it one day.

My tattoo opinions:
  • I judge someone if they're covered in them or if they have retarded shit tattooed on them. Huge sign of mental instability and reckless impulsiveness. I prefer to date women who don't have them.
  • Lots of findings have been coming out about how the tattoo ink affects your health negatively, especially if it's Chinese ink. This was the final nail in the coffin for me to decide against getting one, it's not worth it regardless of how cool they look.
  • It's gradually becoming more accepted in the workplace, but tattoos that can't be hidden underneath clothing may affect job opportunities.

What do you all think about tattoos?

It depends on the style and how many tattoos.
Anisa Jomha is made even more unattractive thanks to her disgusting choice in tattoos. I hate basic white bitches with tattoos like arrows or other "I'm so quirky and uniquely in tune with myself" type of tattoos.
Men with tribal tattoos are a big red flag for me, it's like women and tramp stamps.

I think tattoos can be absolutely beautiful and they can be made more beautiful if there's meaning behind them. I wouldn't be against dating someone with a tattoo and I couldn't say what the hard limit for me is, I know it when I see it.
I don't have any tattoos myself but I used to want some traditional Japanese sumi-e inspired tattoo/s thanks to my undying love for Okami. Extremely cringe reasoning behind getting a tattoo I suppose, and I never did get the back piece I wanted due to personal reasons.

Mandatory on men, depends on women. If a woman has something cool or meaningful it can work, but if she just comes out all sleeved up looking like Rhea Ripley I'm not with it.

I’m not keen. I have seen some that are genuinely art level good but most I dont like. I dont find them attractive on men. I really dislike the doodle type ones people put randomly all over them.
It’s also not my skin, not my business so if someone wants a tatt or finds it meaningful then go right ahead.

Tattoos are for sailors, gangsters, prostitutes, and slaves.
Hey pal, my MOTHER was a gangster sailor on a boat full of slave prostitutes for years, and she didn't have ONE tattoo!
No wait I just realized my mom had a radiotherapy tattoo so if a medical tattoo counts, I guess that whore pirate did have a tat.

Tattoos are inherently stupid and ugly. There's no situation where a tattoo improves your looks. Best case, it's a nice, well done tattoo and it works out neutral. Most likely, it makes you look trashy.

That being said, I appreciate the idea of having a permanent mark on your body representing something vitally important to who you are and think that as long as the person getting the tattoo accepts it makes them look stupid, it's probably fine.

That said, get that shit someplace you can cover up. Especially don't get face/hand/neck tattoos you can't hide when the situation depends on it.

Also, don't get shit like Harry Potter themed tattoos, unless you're getting some brands tattoo for a personal reason that isn't going to change based on tastes in the future.

I´m not a fan. I don´t think they are cool or attractive per se, and they have become so mainstream that they are not even edgy any more.
I can appreciate an individual, well executed tattoo, just like art in any other medium, and there are individuals in which a tattoo complements their overall style and adds to their look, but both are rare.

Most of what you see actually looks pretty trashy and tends to take away from a person´s looks and overall style rather than add to it in a positive way.

But then, of course, that´s only my personal sense of aesthetics and nobody is obligated to conform to that. Everyone has to find the look they feel comfortable in for themselves, and if a tattoo is part of that for someone, so be it. I can actually be happy for a friend who got a tattoo that has meaning for them and that they are happy with, even when I don´t think it looks good, as long as it´s what they like for their own look.

What I do find annoying is when tattooed people expect exceptions to be made for them in foreign places where tattoos are usually shunned, such as most Japanese onsen. No, you do not deserve to be let in looking like a used baby´s coloring book just because you´re a foreigner and it´s normal where you live. But that´s more of a general "idiot snowflake" annoyance than an issue with tattooed people.

It feels like nearly everyone my age has at least one and they seem to be genuinely surprised when they learn I have none.
Its like everyone in my generation got some sort of psyop where if they dont feel like theyre 'normal' they just HAVE to have a tattoo and are shocked that theyre even able to relate to someone who didnt feel compulsed to get one.
It brings to mind, if youre decent at drawing, so many people will tell you 'OMG you should do tattoos!' its already permanent on the paper, I really dont need to sadistically pen it on someone's skin too. Im probably bitter about tattoos solely for this reason

When it's bad, it's really bad. When it's really good, it's kinda cool. I like the history and the old artwork. I wouldn't get one myself because everyone has them now which makes them lame. Also I'm tired of women getting the brunt of the tattoo hate when every dude I know has the absolute worst cringy nonsense all up and down their arms. Dylan with a confederate flag John Deere logo next to the viking larp tat next to the names of his two bastard children he doesn't spend time with.....

I feel like the general consensus on tattoos so far has been that only the trashiest of white trash would be covered in them. The kind of classless people that know exactly how hard you can go while you're having sex in a double wide trailer and not wake up her 2 rugrats she has by 2 different fathers in the other room.
These are people that need to be told that you're not supposed to wear cowboy boots to a wedding. The type of people who have at least one relative with a firebird sitting on the front lawn that they are perpetually working on but haven't gotten it started in 20 years.
These people drink pbr or busch light and think it's okay to try to talk their girlfriend into giving them a handjob underneath the hoodie on their lap at the movies, even though it's packed.
In other words, you guys have helped me better understand the reason why I'm covered in tattoos. :story:

If you don't have any tattoos, you've led a boring, milquetoast life, uninterrupted by true tragedy, victory, or epiphany.

The converse is not necessarily true.
