What do you think is going to happen when most, if not all, of the remaining oldfags, leave the site?

I remember back when most forums didn't have avatars or the ability to upload images and if you wanted to show something visually you'd use ASCII art. Kiwifarms itself has gone through several cultural changes over the years, yet its perhaps the best current example of ye old Internet from back in the day. As long as Jersh has a strong succession plan it'll be a long time before having to worry about it dying.

And even then people might initially scatter, but then attempt to rebuild what once was. Kiwifarms was not the first, and I sincerely believe it will not be the last.

The site has been through a lot, there's the 2013-2015 accounts, the pre-covid accounts, the Chris motherfucker permatourists, the #dropkiwifarms vets, the 4chan refugees and the soyteens, probably some others I'm forgetting. Personally I don't pay attention to joindates and don't have a problem with anyone as long as they conform to site culture.

Join dates are a poor barometer for "old fag", it's more about the quality of what someone contributes to the community that matters most. "Old fag" is a state of mind. Case in point, I've come and gone from these boards since they were the CWCki Forums, and my username has changed several times over the years. I just never really get too committed or invested, so I don't have any particular attachment to old accounts (I lost my previous one in the #DropKiwiFarms fallout).

sadly the sharty is the cutting edge of retarded discussions online. KF is the better site by far with a better userbase, but the sharty will succeed 8chan in ways we've yet to comprehend.

The same thing that happens in real life. the old slowly whittle away with great sadness but the lessons and knowledge get passed to the new, it's impossible to act exactly the same since the new grew up a different world than the old but their legacy and memes* passes along like DNA and will be with us always no matter how many generations pass.

KF is one of the few active "Web 1.0" style forum sites left. Other than those and a number of very inactive small forums, it seems there's just vid sites (like YT), "social media", "Reddit", and "Discord", which are usually infested with and run on "woke" BS. Especially "Reddit" now. I heard that before Current Year, they were a more free site.
