What does "Gender Identity" mean?

I don't understand the concept of "Gender Identity" or why do I "have to" respect it. How is not wanting to call a man in a dress "she" is discrimination?

I can't really criticize it online without having my accounts suspended for being "discriminatory against different gender identities" or getting "ratio'd" by some trannies.

It's a shitty reboot of "The Bourne Identity" series.

Serious answer is that it's the expression of a person's sex, which is somehow decoupled from it. Male expressing females would be called males, for instance.

Schizo answer: It's pushed by global elites, to further debase human nature in order to prepare us for endless servitude via machine implants/replacement by entirely doing away with concepts of any sort of natural identity.

According to Wikipedia:

Gender identity is the personal sense of one's own gender. Gender identity can correlate with a person's assigned sex or can differ from it. In most individuals, the various biological determinants of sex are congruent, and consistent with the individual's gender identity. Gender Expression typically reflects a person's gender identity, but this is not always the case. While a person may express behaviors, attitudes, and appearances consistent with a particular gender role such expression may not necessarily reflect their gender identity.

According to Twitter and Tumblr Addicts:

Gender identity is a form of social currency used to protect oneself against any and all criticism, no matter how based in scientific fact it is. It's also a shield used to protect oneself from truths that people refuse to listen to, and allows you to target straight white males for the condemnable crime of their birth. The more pronouns you tack on to your identity, the more protection you'll have. If you identify as a queer metrosexual non-binary Australian Bit Plane, then you've more protection than the average normie.

No, identity is identifying with your sex, regardless of whether you bother to try to express it or not. If you don't bother to express your identity, it's still valid because you're probably just repressing yourself due to a hostile transphobic environment or something.

If you wade through enough woke CoCs, you'll notice that gender identity and expression are two different protected classes. And sometimes sex isn't protected at all, because fuck women, this is a boy's club again. Fucking horseshoe.

It's a means to legitimize mental illness.

A means to legitimize those who LARP as the opposite sex (or both or none at all) and insist that we take them seriously and not mock them.

A means to evade the inconvenient fact that you cannot change your sex and you are a retard if you try.

It is your 'identity' which is a social construct even when getting into the whole man vs woman thing.

I'll lay it down flat. What makes a man or a woman in a societal view is utter bullshit and we have fucked ourselves over by sticking people in a binary due to what is between their legs. The existence intersex people destroys the whole 'gender binary' thing.
So basically. Gender identity is deal with the social aspect of what makes someone this or that, but the definition of each gender is so arbitrary it isn't even describing real people at this point.

'Man must be stronk and logical and womens are emotional and irrational'.

It is stupid. The quicker we get past that and not make such a big deal outta men wearing dresses and girls playing baseball the better. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't actually matter.

This would only work if they stuck to the idea of 2 genders, but they don't. Ask one of these muppets how many genders there are, and you won't ever get a definitive answer. So even for those who pretend that a boy putting on a dress magically becomes a girl, it still wouldn't explain how transitioning would work from one made up gender to another.

"Gender Identity" is a concept entirely made up by Gender Studies majors. It actually has no practical meaning, and only exists in order for those Gender Studies majors to carry on about it and sound like their degrees actually mean something useful so they can grift off it.

Gender identity is made up bullshit. But... but!
There is some validity to leftist propaganda. Like gender identity can describe how you want to portray yourself to other. And you yourself wouldn't like being called a sex you are not. So there's some truth to it. But it's overshadowed by the intentions of clown dressed convicted child molesters who want to abuse women in the bathrooms.

A few comments from a video thread (regarding a Battlefield Friends video of all things) from people who like to learn about identities and the like.

"Gender" seems to be a made-up modern thing?

But there is definitely two different sexes.

This is the biggest logical fallacy I stick in their faces. If the goal of the movement is to destroy the gender binary and gender roles, but you require said binary in order to define your spectrum, you are going against your own movement to fortify said movement.
