When I read bad takes on twitter, I like seeing them with more comments than likes so I can have a little faith in the internet again. I think that's how diehard tweeters see it, but as twitter is the real world to them, it's life or death. If they get anxiety from something and could have their online career (streamers, programmers) ruined by it, everyone must feel it. It's also the equivalent of downvote.
For troons, it helps them sleep better knowing that others think the same opinions as them. It's not something most humans feel, but troons do because half of their existence is based on what others think of them. "If other people don't see me as my gender..." gets them thinking, which is insane since a true and honest gay/lesbian usually grows out of it and realizes even if others think they're fake it doesn't change who they like- it's immutable. For modern troons (not old school trans) it's part of their neurosis, depending way too much on what others think of them. Ratioed is a way of quelling those fears.
