What events/plans of yours have been cancelled by corona-chan?

I'm in Beijiing. Nothing has been open for months. I've been working from home but it's been dull as fuck. I was drinking far too much but I knocked it on the head after getting a three-day hangover. I'm growing my beard out- looking OK so far.
My wife was going to travel to another city but was told that if she does she'll probably be quarantined in a shitty government hotel. The one they had in Fujian collapsed and killed about seventy people who were being quarantined. Imagine surviving the Batflu only to have the roof fall in and kill you.
That's totally China right thurrr.

was going to poland to celebrity one of my best mates getting married so we were suppose too get drunk on cheap liquor but that plan got canceled. the marriage got moved up so it will happen in a few weeks instead of next month. work got shut down for a hole month so i finally have an excuse to stay at home and play games. will still get paid so thats nice,

I had bought a ticket for Road Rage last month, but we all know how that went.
I'm not too bent out of shape, but I did wanna say hi to Null like the idea of having a very bizarre weekend and meeting a bunch of interesting characters.

Today was supposed to be my wedding. We'd planned and organized it almost 18 months in advance. We've been seeing each other for 6 years.

Spouse-to-be took a business trip to China in December and is still stuck there. We're out 12k USD in preparations and booking for the wedding because they wouldn't let us cancel during the pandemic scare. We will not be able to recoup the losses and have the type of wedding I had saved up all that time to give her.

So now I'm just sitting here alone in my shed out back with some beer and a cig, instead of in the arms of another person. Am I doing social distancing right?

I was in the process of looking for a new job, and obviously now those plans are on hold. It worked out pretty nicely though because a few weeks ago my current company started letting us work 100% from home. Feelsgoodman

In August, partner and I bought a house on 2 acres in the country about 40 miles from our home in the city. We were supposed to sell the city house this spring so we could build a large shop on the 2 acres. Now, the real estate market is shaky, so selling the city house is on hold, which puts the shop on hold. Even if we had the funds to start the shop, no govt officials are working, so permits, etc. to start construction aren't happening.

This was first near normal years I'd had since early childhood and life was starting to look up. All plans are on the rocks. Suspended the job search. Cancelled what would have been the first vacation in adulthood as well other travel plans. Hours at one workplace dried up entirely and so financial and material goals will be in ruins for many months to come.

I had so many intentions. Every day calendar reminds me what's gone. Less upset about that than I am that as we sink into global recession yet more doors will close I didn't even know were open.

I had plans to go to the Hayden planetarium and then go out for Polish food in Brooklyn for my birthday. Next weekend I was going to go camping in Bucks County, PA with my best friend.

I know I'm not the only one whose birthday plans got bungled this year, but I'm still sad.

My sister's birthday celebration was cancelled. Thankfully, my dad will be making some fish fry for her and I and sending it to us. (We just have to heat it up.)

I can't go out running. I wanted to take my Dad to a pretty big comic convention in May (the only ones he saw were very small and underwhelming), but it was cancelled. The film festival I use to go to with my mother every Spring has been cancelled. I had surgery more or less a year ago, and my check up has been posponed indefinitely.

Seeing John Prine at Mariposa festival. The Yellow Peril took him away :(

Also, that spree of chinese-style kindergarten mass stabbings I was looking forward to in late May.

A romantic getaway with my man that was originally planned in late May. We were planning on sitting on a beach reading novels while sipping mixed drinks.

I was going to search for a house but might have to wait till next year unless work manage to stay afloat or I get a great deal if housing prices it. At least I can use the downpayment to live off if work really gets slow.

I had two conventions that were coming up that were both cancelled...one the day before it started. I went to the mall when it was supposed to be happening and say people walking around in cosplay.

My cruise I organized in fall of 2018 got cancelled. It was supposed to be the second week of April.

And I still haven't gotten my refund for the cruise itself back. I applied for it March 14th. Sent an email after 30 days because they said it would take up to that time. I'm going to be fucking pissed if they say "lol sorry too late we keep your money".

Apart from the HEMA lessons I started taking about 3 weeks before the lockdown.l, I was reminded today by my calendar that I was supposed to go to a Heidevolk concert.
Makes me sad.
