Every time I've met someone IRL who thinks The Last of Us is the best video game story ever or something, I ask them questions about their dad.

All 7 times, they were either fatherless or had an absent father.

The smash bros community beats all of them, yeah sonic fans and so many others are filled autism and trannies but the level of fucking entitlement and actual pedos in a fanbase for a fucking children’s game is insane. The level of entitlement they get about being good at the game and the insane levels of drama they’re willing to pull, literally beating others up for losing tournament matches and threatening actual Nintendo employees because they didn’t include their favorite x character Is insane. They are more obnoxious than sonic fans in this regard to give you an idea.

They pretend that no other game has any kind of concept of difficulty except only those games. They pretend that janky mechanics don’t exist in their games and it’s your problem. They will talk about how easy it is for them because they played and beat all the games dozens of times. I’m sure they have but they think we should give a shit that they have.

The thing that gets me about souls players is that they will repeat the mantra of "adapt, git gud" but in the same breath will wail to the high heavens about how _____ is broken/needs nerfs and the word "meta" will drool out of their mouths a good five or six times.

The worst thing to happen to souls games was them becoming popular. The hugbox culture spilling from /dsg/ and reddit has made me distance myself from any of the online components although the ER arena was fun for a while.
