What generic/store brand items are better/just as good as the name brand? - Alternatively, are there things you should buy name brand?

Okay, here’s my list so far:
  • The maple cream cookies from the Kroger brand are better than the limited edition maple cream Oreos
  • Generic ibuprofen works just as well as Tylenol or Advil
  • Costco brand bacon bits are better than Oscar-Myers
  • Meijer brand cotton candy confetti ice cream is better than other cotton candy flavored ice cream (this could also be my nostalgia talking)
  • Kroger brand raisin bran is just as good as the name brand Rasin Bran
  • Trader Joe’s Jo Jo’s are better than Oreos
  • Aldi brand cream soda is so good
  • I like Target bras better than Victoria’s Secret (Victoria’s Secret has better sports bras though)

Kroger's Coké Zero knockoff was pretty good. I also buy Costco's store branded 24 packs of bottle water since they're like $3 and are perfectly fine. Their store-brand detergent smells really good, too.

Most of the stuff Trader Joes sells is store-brand, and they have the best alkaline water I've tried. Their regular joe basic bitch coffee is pretty good, and honestly, I like it more than any of their other coffee. But if you really want caffeine, try their chocolate-covered espresso beans. Eat a bunch and let yourself get carried away and you'll act like a methhead, they're so good and strong.

TJ's orange juice isn't very good, though.

Speaking of coffee, Target sells a really, really cheap store-brand coffee. It doesn't taste all that bad for the price, but it left me feeling... weird. Like, very twitchy and uncomfortable, and I'm always consuming copious amounts of caffeine. So don't buy that.

Dollar Tree's caffeine pills work pretty well, too. They're a little weak, but just take like three or four and you'll be good. Don't bother with their B12, though, that stuff is a comically low 50mg when most supplements are around the 1000-1500mg range.

And like you mentioned with your ibuprofen, store brand medicines are just the exact same thing. I bought a two-pack of Costco ibuprofen and, despite taking a lot of it, it still managed to expire before I ran out. In fact, I just checked, and it expired in May 2018, but still works perfectly fine. Same with Neosporin, aspirin, and this Costco-branded "Aller-flo" nose spray stuff I discovered after finding out about Flonase and looking up exactly what it was, and checking around for generics.

Pretty much anything Kirkland at Costco. Most of them are just rebrand name brand stuff. For instance, Kirkland batteries are literally Duracell. They come of the exact same assembly line.
Actually I second Kirkland brand

Also their Pizza is literally the greatest thing they make

Peanut butter and jelly, Great Value. Sure, if you want other varieties like blackberry or raspberry you'll go for the name brands, but for good old classic PB&J, you couldn't go wrong with generics.

I pretty much always buy generic for most things since I usually can't tell the difference. I never buy generic cola but other soda flavors are usually good, generic ketchup can taste off too so I always get Heinz. I prefer store brand toilet paper. I bought some of that fancy "wipe your ass with a cloud" 4 ply name brand shit when it was on sale once and it leaves tp dust everywhere and it irritated my girlfriend's vagina.

Eldorado, a cheap generic brand here, has the worst ever instant coffee. It is undrinkable and tastes like metallic dirt.

There's a generic store brand called Garant and they have some good stuff, their Earl Grey is on par with Twinings and costs a third as much. Their oatmeal sugar cookies costs less than half as much as the big brands and they are better.
Coop used to have their own super cheap tagliatelle that was the absolute best, when cooked it became like a fat linguine with a chewy center.

The cheapest mayonnaise in the store is pound for pound better than the expensive vegan mayonnaise. One of the cost cutting things they do is not using eggs in the cheap one, so they're both vegan, except one jar costs 1/3 or 1/4 as much. In general the absolute cheapest store brand or no-brand products tend to be vegan.
