I'm not going to lie, I wasn't very happy with a lot of the stuff I read on ED. Like how I know some people on the autism spectrum haven't bothered to make something of themselves and when someone on the spectrum who actually does come along, if they bring up geniuses like Einstein who were (allegedly) autistic, their response was "redirect that autistic person to Chris-chan." Really? I'm sorry but I can't vouch for that.

Then there's how it seemed like they were trying to shoehorn Jew, gay, an hero, the n word, or raep into every other sentence. The pages kind of gave me the feeling that most of these guys had some high and mighty attitudes, but in actuality were probably among the very people they make fun of. HAHAHA, I told a loser to go commit suicide, I am so cool and edgy because I did it for the lulz!!! And when they say lulz, that catch all term that justifies racism, anti semitism, mocking 9/11, etc.? It reminds me of someone I knew who would say hurtful things to other people, only to finish with "I'm joking" or "just kidding". Again, really?

What did they have to gain from all this? That's what I want to know.

Shock value. All the nigger this, Jew that shit was done for shock value. Same with the suicide jokes. They made a sport out of putting as much distasteful shit in a sentence as possible. There's no way in hell Encyclopedia Dramatica wasn't primarily written by, and for, fourteen year old chubby autistic boys. You can just picture them, chuckling in their multiple underchins behind their screens.

Spergs laughing at spergs to feel better about themselves, and the occasional outsider taking a gander out of morbid curiosity, only to quickly lose interest because of the huge amount of retardation on those pages. The funniest thing were the times when the articles' subjects would come to the site demanding for their articles to be taken down. That was pretty hilarious, I'll give them that.

Overall though, we can safely conclude: nothing of value has been lost.

The problem with ED now is basically that exceptional individuals themselves can edit articles. You can have someone to be stupid to make a video like this:

...and still can edit a shitty ED article. (No srsly, the guy who made the video actually was an ED editor for a certain article)

ED focuses more on drama now regardless of the quality. A good example would be even Rika himself made an article about Red Minus (some video maker nobody cares about). The article is horribly written with crazy thoughts from Rika, but the article remains with a few productive changes. Why? Drama. One furry mod even praised Rika about this shit.

It also gets worse. There's one lolcow who is a diaperfur and actually had his own article on ED. Back then, there were some dramas between him and the ED page. A few years later, he comes back to ED, and later becomes an admin of ED. I don't know why, but I think it's because he was calm in his edits in his own article at that time. Fortunately, he was removed from his position and was banned, but that's not saying much.

And as much as I hate to say it, I kinda dislike the Asalieri article. Some parts are okay, but some of it is basically TGWTG and AVGN fanboyism.

As far as visting that site, I only went their for cows such as A-Log and groups such as bronies and weeaboos. Also went there simply because one tumblrite managed to get her own page due to all the drama she caused towards bronies, revealing herself to be a hypocrite and what not in drawing her own cheesecake pony images. Really, it's as Satan says, ED is pretty much shock value with things like "an hero" which would bring spergs trying to be edgy.

Here are some comments in relation to ED that I found. They don't speak highly of the site but they aren't of the kind that say "Yay, my ED article is forever gone".

ED used to be a satirical comedy website, but it has been overtaken by teens and angry, fat, twenty-something year-olds who use it as an outlet for their hate and anger of certain subjects.

Wait, was ED actually good once? All I see now is it being the absolute lowest point of the internet, a bunch of nasty people who aren’t even funny in their trolling, they are just trying too hard to be offensive.

ED used to be funny and some of it still is, but now it looks like the satire’s gone and most of the pages are made by people with a vendetta against whoever they’re supposedly “parodying”. For example, the entry for the ThatGuyWithTheGlasses website reads like it was written by people who were banned from there and wrote up that page as “revenge”.

Encyclopedia Dramatica isn’t funny anymore.

I’ve met some fagets who think ED is a serious site and get all butthurt over it. Then I try to tell them it’s a fucking satire but they don’t listen. So, in a way, half that stuff is true.

Really, as much as how the articles could have some truth, it's mostly satire that has exaggerations for the sake of satire.

I'll elaborate a little bit more, starting with the Asalieri one.

As I posted before, some parts of the article are okay while some are showing signs of AVGN and TGWTG fanboyism. There's one part about the drama between Asalieri and The Hardcore Kid (aka one of A-Log's friends) which is not only terribly long and boring as fuck, but even went as far as to praise Hardcore Kid's shitty "Top 15 Smegged Up YouTube Failures" video for making a good point about Asa even though the video is terribly cringey. Although you got one Nostalgia Critic wannabe who makes a cringey video reviewing "Boku No Pico", you'll still have some ED editors are like "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! ASALIERI IS CRITICISING HARDCORE KID BECAUSE HE WANTS ATTENTION! HOW DARE HE CRITICISES HOW HE LOOKS EVEN THOUGH HE LOOKS LIKE... WELL, ONE OF YOUR SHITTY FRIENDS, ASA!" Really?

And some of the criticisms about Asa are alright in the article, such as him criticising AVGN's movie for involving fans donating money even though Asa is guilty of doing the same thing himself, but some criticisms are stupid. For example, Asa criticises Linkara's video involving him talking about ad revenue (I forgot what it's all about). I expect some better criticism, but what did I got? "LOL ASALIERI HAS ADVERTISEMENTS IN HIS VIDEOS AS WELL. LEL SUCH HYPOCRISY LOLOLOLOL" Come on.

I also like to point out that some articles such as MirceaKitsune and Moleman9000 are okay, but outdated. I think some editors are moving on from updating them.
