I have heard that a mixture of nitric acid (HNO3) and ammonia (NH3) produces interesting results. Is this true? Anyone here ever done that?

Don't listen to this guy, it actually makes NH4NO3 also known as ammonium nitrateNH3 + HNO3 = N2O + H2O
Laughing gas and water.
Well you're no fun. Once you heat the ammonium nitrate to 250° it'll turn into laughing gas and water.Don't listen to this guy, it actually makes NH4NO3 also known as ammonium nitrate

Well I figured that much was obvious seeing as 250° is 38° above the boiling point of water.Correct, but it is in gas form.
That's what I said.NH3 + HNO3 = N2O + H2O
