What Have You Cooked Recently?

Not much of a baker, but I constantly have tard cum and bread that I can't sell, so I've taken up trying bread puddings. I can at least make a small profit on what would otherwise be food waste. Do you guys think a banana split (chocolate banana bread pudding with strawberry crème anglaise) bread pudding would sell okay? Also, having trouble getting the custard to set. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if wrong thread.
Where do you sell things? I think the banana split bread pudding sounds awesome. I'm always much more tempted by unusual desserts and I've never seen that idea before, but it sounds promising.

A rural deli. We get fresh bread in every day for sandwiches, and milk from a local dairy, but it doesn't always sell, especially right now with the plants and factories being mostly closed. Thanks for the words of confidence.

The Mrs. is on a health food kick so I made braised chicken breasts with steamed potatoes and steamed broccoli. The pan leavings from the chicken were made into a light pan sauce with some margarine in lieu of butter and the potatoes were tossed in it.
It was pretty good, all things considered.

To test out the new peeler (seriously, the old one was more rust than peeler, hence why I leave my skins on), I decided to experiment with making potato skins with the left overs. Oiled, salted, and garlic pepper because fuggit, I put them in the air fryer for about 7 minutes.

I actually could've left them in longer, but they came out alright, if overly salty since I was liberal with it. The fries were cooked perfectly, if having the same problem. As for the main course, a hamburg style steak?

Cooked perfectly, but then I accidentally ruined it with rotten sauce that I thought was still good.

Yesterday's fusili with salami and kidneybeans went pretty well imo.

Today’s khao soi went exceedingly well with the only minor hiccup being the soup overfowed when it boiled in my first pot. Luckily another pot was used and what resulted was creamy, spicy noodle soup just like how my mom would make it.

Appetite has not been up to par recently, but I steamed some frozen edamame and tossed it in s & p, soy, and sambal. Pretty amazing. Also made my own tuna tataki: Fresh ahi tuna steak rolled in black and white sesame seeds, seared quickly in a pan on all sides, eaten with ponzu sauce and chopped green onion. That was a treat--those tuna steaks are costly, but I splurged.

Oh my gosh! The bread pudding was very good. I was afraid it would be too moist, so added an additional eight slices of bread from the base recipe. (Made a 2x. Only use four slices for a single recipe. Six to twelve.) Use "jumbo muffin tins" and add five minutes to the cooking time. The banana seems to sink, so that is something to work on next time. Base recipe. I didn't need the anglaise. But, I will try to make it tomorrow, if I have time.

bro was like "breh this bacon is going bad imminently do you want it" so I stuck it in the oven for a while, threw on curry powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, fresh ground black pepper, and... I think that's about it.
nice
basically tastes like jerky

I was in the mood for something diabeetus inducing so I made yeast donuts filled with dulce de leche. The donut dough was the hardest part because it’s a sticky, enriched dough that needs a lot of kneading, but it’s totally worth it for that nice, feathery texture.

Pro-tip: if you have an Instant Pot, it’s ridiculously easy to make dulce de leche! Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda into a couple of tablespoons of warm water and mix it with one can of sweetened condensed m.ilk into a small stainless steel bowl (one that will fit inside the Instant Pot).

Pour a cup of water into your Instant Pot and place the stainless steel bowl with your mix directly in it. Close the lid and set it to pressure cook on high for 60 minutes. The end result will look like a lumpy mess, but have no fear! You can blitz it with a hand blender until smooth and caramel-y.

I started making spicy scrambled eggs a month or two ago. It's as simple as adding half a teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper to the eggs while you're whisking them.

Roommate who sometimes grocery shops for the whole house got a twenty fucking pound bag of rice last week, so I made orange ginger chicken but replaced the orange and ginger with mango chutney. Strongly recommended.

"cooked" is probably a bit generous but I got one of those things of Costco Generic Pulled Pork and heated it per the instructions, and holy shit this stuff is good
I have pretty high expectations from Kirkland by this point but damn this is some nice smoked pulled pork, but I regret not noticing the bit on the side that said I need to bring my own sauce.

Tried my hand at a cheap mince meat-noodles-casserole. The incredients were noodles, one onion and two garlic cloves, a zucchini, 125 g mozzarella, 500 g mince meat, one can of chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, bell pepper powder, and parsley for decoration.
So how did it taste? Unfortunately not as great as I had hoped, I should've added more spices. This said, I finally learned to appreciated mozzarella. Always thought it smelled weird, but it is a great for cheese for melting over a casserole.

As a side note, it's fun to see how much the looks of a meal can be improved by adding fresh herbs to it. The green adds.

Yeah presentation really matters. I usually don't bother but I like putting green herbs on top of eggs, does a lot to sell it.

Diced up some chicken and made a southwest style seasoning proper. It was pretty solid.

Also going to change back to my ground salt for fries, because iodized I keep overdoing despite my best efforts.

The chicken casserole recipe that comes on the side of a box of Jiffy Mix is actually really good. https://site.jiffymix.com/chicken-casserole-with-broccoli/

Just took some muffins out of the oven. Made brownies and cookies yesterday.

You can do this kind of thing with biscuit mix or nearly any similar kind of quickbread for a cheesy bread-topped casserole. Literally cheesy if you throw in cheese too. Meat, potatoes, veggies, whatever, blobs of dough.
