What if we harnessed the power of tweakers?

Tweakers and crackheads in general seem to have an incredible ability to create the most advanced and intricate mechanical contraptions and gizmos just to buy crack and generally be homeless more effectively. Could it be possible to harness this power and make crackheads create items such as a nuclear fusion reactor?

I think a guy tried this already, it started with a team of tweakers digging a hole in his backyard looking for oil and ended with stealing a tank and driving it through San Diego (archived just because).

So things would definitely get done, I’m just not sure those things would be productive.

Reminder that while they can be incredibly industrious, crackheads are still crackheads.
The lower Puget Sound region dealt with power brownouts for like a month straight, every terminally online politisperg blamed the fringe political movement they thought was responsible, and, in the end, it was two idiots who didn't know how to shut down a generator safely so they robbed power substations for their register money instead of stealing all the copper at those places and creating their own mint.
