Containment What If?

I could foresee this going two ways. First: Chris is still coddled by Barb, but Bob has a child he can really push to be successful. So he focuses on the other child and their education and such, while Barb spends all her time focusing on Chris.

Second: Child #2 is barely paid any attention in favor of taking care of OPL, and is expected to do all the work around the house, and we end up with a sort of Cinderella scenario. As soon as he or she gets older, they either act out immediately or move out the day they turn 18 (and thus become another Cole).

One way or another, chances are good that Younger Sibling would get out of 14 Branchland.

However, unlike David, Suzanne, or Cole-who are not only just half-siblings, but also twenty-some years his senior-YS might be in a better position to actually do something about the Chandlers' living situation, if they feel charitable enough to do so.

Chris' parents would have left him under Sarah Hammer's crawlspace. :pickle:

Having been witness to similar situations to that proposed here (with minor details changed such as the age of parents, younger/older sibling, etc) I can safely assume that - especially with the small knowledge we have of Borb's personalities - a neurotypical younger sibling would definitely be favored and Chris would be taken for what he truly is: a slow in da mind who's sole purpose in life is to burden those around him.
Would Chris turn out to be a better person? Probably. The problem with Borb was that they were too old (and in Barb's case, hillbilly) to give a fuck or understand the changing world around them. This is why Chris' world is an odd blend of archaic ideas and modern technology. I feel like if another kid were thrown into the mix, they'd be able to differentiate their parent's world from their own, and thus influence Chris to be a more normal human.
Or maybe they'd end up just as screwed up. I dunno.

he would probs just give them some lecture, or just un away and cry. but i think the bigger question is what what barb do....

in his song of christan video or what ever its called didnt he say he wanted a younger brother to play vidya with? and seeing as younger siblings are known for taking the piss outa there older brother or sister he or she would probs troll chris.

Chris would definitely be less lonely and would probably develop better social skills. That is if Chris' younger sibling can socialize normally, if the younger sibling is just as socially awkward as Chris then I can assure you that things for Chris would be a lot worse since he'd someone to affirm everything he says.

Chris: Are what the trolls say about me t-true, [sibling]?

[sibling]: Mmmm, no brother they are just slanderous TROLLS!!!!

...Not saying that a younger sibling would have made Chris a GOOD person...

What is up with people here lately? Chris is not a *bad* person. He's just a very gullible and troubled individual who had the bad luck to be raised the way he was. He's fascinating, and the perfect storm of some very unusual traits, but let's not kid ourselves that he's some sort of monster. He doesn't have the same understanding to make the kind of informed decision that could be judged by the same criteria that we might judge one of us or someone else.

I'm not saying he's an angel or some sort of "upstanding citizen," but everyone on here seems to get mad or angry at Chris. I don't get it. I think he's interesting, absurd and hilarious. But everybody gets all rustled or starts describing him as a "bad person." It's weird.

/Rant

He's harmless, but he's far from being a good person.

 if the sibbling was just as bad as chris they would of probably been trolled as well. plus they would be living with chris in his room. imagine having two lol cows in the videos raging at the camera. ahahahahaha.

They'd all sit there uncomfortably while Chris plays video games and Barbara wheezes in the corner.

And of course the trolls would bring up the obligatory incest accusations.

Sibling would be favored over Chris by Bob, Barb would favor Chris because she has a victim complex.
Sibling would grow up normallly, have a few fights with Barb and Chris about his worth in the household, and move out at 18.
Bob would pay for sibling's education instead of Chris's :tugboat:
One day sibling would google OPL after listening to him whine about trolls, find the forum, and start telling us stories ._.

Mmm... naw, he's a little bit of a bad person.

I'd say refer to Alec's signature. Chris isn't Hitler or Hussein or whatever. But he's been so conditioned to believe that he's flawless and handsome and can do no wrong, he's just going to MAKE himself look bad. If that makes sense.

I think the pawns will be the following:

Jerkops
Manajerks
MLW (as portrayed in fan art)
JERKS! (hunky male)
Boyfriend Free Girl

I would be perfect if "Kick the Autistic" had a ton of Rube Goldberg-esque pieces, a'la "Mousetrap."

As i recall, Mousetrap actually had a game piece that was a spring loaded boot that kicked part of the contraption. Perfect.

i don't have to weigh someone's upbringing and the circumstances therein when making my decisions on whether or not i like them or believe they're a good/bad person. That's absolutely ridiculous, and expecting far far too much from people.

I don't hate Chris, and i don't think he's a monster that deserves to be harmed. But i'm not going to lay the blame for his shit entirely at Borb's feet, because really, where does that shit end? Barb didn't magically sprout her character flaws. I'm sure her parents had a lot to do with that.

in short, allowing Chris to slide because of 'extenuating circumstances' is something that Chris believes should happen, and if more people in his life held him directly accountable for his behavior, maybe none of us would be here right now.

I think the hoard is going to turn into a real-life Mousetrap one of these days. Chris slips on unidentified feces and crashes into a wall, which knocks down a Thomas Kinkade painting, which scares the dog, who knocks over a bucket of iced tea, which shorts out a lamp, which sets a fire in the wastebasket, whose smoke rises to the ceiling and sets off an inexplicably placed fire sprinkler, which fills up all the Precious Moments mugs and vases on the creaking mantel, which gives way with a crash, and on and on.

Almost never does anyone on here propose fixes to Chris' problems that enable him to sit on his ass and let the happiness come to him. So, I don't think his relationship with this forum will change substantially in the foreseeable future.

The only real consequences of Chris reading the forums was some hilarity regarding the "poster campaign" and some very confused Asian people who knocked on the door of 14 Branchland Court one day.

Just because Chris believes it's true, doesn't mean it isn't true. A stopped clock is right twice a day.

Now, as far as Chris being a bad person goes, he's shitty quite frequently, but there are a lot of situations where, if you look at it from Chris' perspective, he really doesn't know any better. Morally, he's doing the right thing, as far as he can tell. There's a lot of debate on how to apply this sort of thinking, but I'll need to elaborate on it later. I'm on a greyhound bus, on my phone, about midway between Miami and Baltimore.
