He's made a few videos where he's noticeably drunk and he admitted that he was drinking at a bar prior to one of his infamous
confrontations with Snyder.
Was it that many? I can't be bothered to count, but it feels like more like two? Maybe more, I don't know. And there was
Chris' big night out.
I don't think Chris has fell down the rabbit hole into total alcoholism, but I don't think he's exactly "sober" either.
I'm pretty sure he's almost entirely sober. Like, maybe a few beers in a given month, tops. And that's a more likely to be the case when he's going to Impulse. (I don't know how often he goes nowadays.)
I get the impression that Chris lacks the self control and concern for his health to avoid overdoing it on alcohol.
He does lack self control, but alcohol hasn't really appealed to him that much. He'll have a beer once in awhile, but he doesn't really enter into that feedback loop where you drink, and you're enjoying yourself, so you drink more, and then you drink more ...
His family history doesn't exactly point him in a good direction on that one either.
Well, we don't really know much about that. The "Bob and Barb were drunks" story came from Cole. It might be true, but Cole is a very unreliable narrator.
In recent years he's been spending a fairly good amount of time in bars when he's not holed up in his room.
It's more that he spends time in gay clubs that happen to have bars.
For all we know Chris actually does have a bit of a problem.
He doesn't. I'd describe it as... he really doesn't know how to party.
Legos, fast food and video games (and spending in general) are much more straightforward pleasures to Chris. He understands those a lot more intuitively. They come with instructions on how to enjoy them. To Chris, alcohol tastes bad and slightly makes him feel better, but it's expensive, relative to the amount of enjoyment gets out of it.
I bet if it wasn't for television cliches, Chris couldn't articulate why people even drink alcohol in the first place.
