I don't think either were compassionate or civic minded enough to care about people with disabilities and the broader issues that affect them besides their darlin' little tard. They probably didn't particularly care for disabled people, or see them as equal people worthy of compassion, understanding and respect.

Where do you think Chris learned to call more challenged people "slow-in the minds"? Borb probably taught it to him. "Oh Chrissy honey... you aint stupid even if yu iz autistic... at least you ain't one a them dumb slow in the mind retards right baby?" They sure never cared to tell him to treat the disabled with respect...


Not to A-log, but they only cared about Chris' disability to the extent it reflected poorly on them ( or so it would seem).
