Containment What If?

In terms of generating revenue from the CWCki and the YouTube videos he has online, surely there's some revenue to be had from the views? If he was smart he could of turned his whole persona into a brand of sorts, much like a character actor, and market himself to TV studios and stuff.

Well first he's have to admit that his popularity is purely down to the fact that people enjoy seeing him making a fool of himself and being an idiot. Chris takes himself far too seriously for this to happen.
It's riches and adoration, or bust for Chris; no middle ground.
 
I totally do believe that it is in the realm of possibility- except there are two major hurdles going for Chris.

1) His own ego. Unless Chris somehow does something drastically amazing like single-handedly saves the President from being kidnapped by ninjas, he is always going to be remembered for being that goofy weird guy who shits himself, plays Pokemon, and refuses to get of his mother's metaphorical teat (please GodBear let it be metaphorical). If he is able to finally say, "Yeah, that was pretty fucking dumb of me," and realize it may have hipster-quality ironic commercial potential, he could make a buck. As it is, he'd rather keep himself strapped to his self-made cross and live off of asspats from random FB spergs.

2) His laziness. Keep in mind Chris somehow expected Dark Horse and Marvel to be impressed by his Sonichu comics and expected them to be entralled by his business pitch videos. This is the same Chris that expected Reggie Fils-Aime and Shigeru Miyamoto to drop everything and come to his house to discuss the potential of a Sonichu video game. He somehow believes (or at least believed) his ideas were so great, people would flock to him in droves.

So, yeah... tl;dr version - it is possible. It is however more likely that Wilfred Brimley will appear at your house to give you a plate of French toast and then fly back to the mothership.

Like some people before me said, I don't think it would be possible for him to sell himself like that because he never realized people liked watching him make a fool of himself - he never realized he was making a fool of himself in the first place. His whacky antics were always TRUE and HONEST, and to him we're all evil people with nothing else to do but try to destroy any attempt at happiness or progress he makes, instead of a bunch of people on the internet laughing at some fat weirdo screaming at the screen.

And yes, he'd have to realize he's been acting like an idiot AND realize people find it funny before he's able to sell himself as a character. And no, that's not likely. He does take himself very seriously.

That makes me wonder (and this might be off-topic), did he really, really, REALLY think he could make a franchise out of his shitty comics, or that he would marry a beautiful woman who'd approach him first and everything, and have his God-promised daughter? What does he think of that now? Personally I think he blames the trolls for ruining the future God and Jesus had promised him.
 
Chris has a strange sense of pride. Too proud to monetize on his stupidity and misfortune, not proud enough to think twice before filming a video where he sits his naked ass on a cake and farts.
 
That would just end up like those internet memes who try to cash in on their popularity and end up becoming even more cringeworthy. Chris would be like the Numa Numa guy. Or Grumpy Cat.

The shit that makes Chris entertaining is shit that you couldn't fake, or produce on demand unless you were a pretty talented entertainer. He isn't.
 
This topic of Chris embracing his internet fame and monetizing it has been brought up often. I think the general consensus is
  1. He's too lazy.
  2. He would need the "emotional support" from his mother or Rocky and they are just too old to grasp the concept.
  3. He doesn't take advice.
I think emotionally it would be a good thing for him. It would really be showing the trolls that he is his "OWN FREE BITCH."
 
I'd like to preface this by saying that this isn't a live event or necessarily the likely future of CWC. But in my time reading articles online, I found a detailed exploration of Adam Lanza, the insane lunatic who killed a bunch of children and his mother in Newtown, CT.

There are a series of similarities between the shut in son of a single mother and CWC; the complete inability to function socially, withdrawing into his own world, and increasingly little left to live for. There is also rage, hatred, and a failure to understand the severity of what acting on it would do.

There are vast differences between Barb Chandler and Nancy Lanza, vast differences between sapphire blue Connecticut and newly swing state Virginia. But beneath it all, Adam was an increasingly delusional lunatic who had violent fantasies and ultimately decided to make them real.

We know Chris as an asocial recluse now in his 30s. He's succeeded in but one goal--losing his virginity--by means that may be more pathetic than keeping it. He has worked less than three months in his life, he destroyed his last actual friendship by drawing porn of the girl in question without her approval, and now has lost his webcomic, his father, his idealized vision of his own past, and now his home.

It is obvious to all that he will never achieve what he hoped to achieve. What happens when he gives up on that hope? What will he have left, short of hatred, repressed anger and the belief that every man is a jerk and every woman has a jerk?

I think this possibility is quite real. Maybe Bob has no gun, maybe Chris is physically incapable of going on a rampage, but I have to wonder what happens when Chris snaps. And I wonder, how long or how little Chris is from that point.

He'll keep doing what he is already doing: Waiting around for someone else to take care of his problems for him.

Chris would never be able to go on some violent rampage. He'd rather wait for someone to get him a Sweetheart with a big paycheck.
