Containment What If?

This isn't the best thread, but I'll bite.

I don't think Chris could go on a rampage. As people have said, he tends to avoid conflict. I believe there was an instance of Chris goading Liquid or Alec (or maybe both) to contact him and when they did, he would turn the phone over to Barb or Bob when it got uncomfortable for him. He's often told trolls that they should come to his house to confront him in person and how he'll kick their ass, except I can guarantee, I mean I would put money, if you went to his door, he would call Barb and hide behind her. Also Chris is pretty lazy, he tends to expect other people to do his bidding, like when he made a post about wanting someone else to blow up the GAMe PLACe (was that really him though? I forget) or how he always expects his fans to counter troll people for him.

A worst case scenario is he gets really pissed off, decides to go on a rampage, except he puts no afterthought into the plan. He might go somewhere, take a gun, shoot it, hit someone, then panic and have no idea what to do next. Or he'll fumble with the gun, like not bother learning how to shoot it or how to load it.

But yeah, Chris defintely wouldn't go out on a rampage.

Chris can barely convince anyone that there's hundreds of people following his every move. With that and his well-documented misunderstanding of finances, the ability to package himself as a commodity worth monetizing would require something alchemical.

He would need the "emotional support" from his mother or Rocky and they are just too old to grasp the concept.

That's the other thing: Chris is surrounded by old farts who wouldn't know the Internet from [clever pun involving "net"]. That, and the fact that we can't say in confidence that said old farts truly care about Chris.

I do believe he could go on a violent rampage. Just not a very deadly/threatening one.

The only way Chris can commit an intentional act of violence on his own volition is if he felt he has absolutely nothing to lose*. These days, it's increasingly dawning on him that he has everything to lose, namely any hope of stability or positive public recognition.

This also applies on a metaphysical level. Despite his years-long railing against God for his misfortunes, in the end, the hope of a just afterlife-where the trolls fall en masse through the trap door to hell and Chris is duly hosted by the heavenly host-is Chris's only chance at vindication.

*As opposed to an unintentional act of violence, which would require spooking and sensorily overloading him (see 28 October 2011).

The most he would do is tard rage to himself in the hotel/rental room. Then he would wear himself out and crash into slumber.

We're talking about a guy who hid behind his elderly mother when He was spotted in the Gameplace by Snyder, he's about as unconfrontational as it gets.

Chris is a lot of things, arrogant, selfish, entitled, hypocritical, dissolutional, possibly even cruel. One thing he isn't, is aggressive, in fact he's the complete opposite, a coward. The only times he's come close to doing any real damage to another human being are when he nearly backed into a security guard during his Benny Hill style chase at the mall, and the much more serious incident with Snyder. Both of these came about from his overwhelming desire to get away from the situation, and not (as many here want to believe) a need to hurt another human being.

Of course, I personally think he's still too dangerous to be behind the wheel of a car, but that's been talked about to death.

Our Pet Lolcow is exempted from guns because they are Too Loud.

Seriously, Chris has exactly two reactions to any kind of interpersonal conflict:

1 - run away

and

B - fall down and squirm on the floor

Thinking about him pitching a fit and squirming around on the floor cracks me up. Sorry.

Honkos.

Also he'd probably be much better-behaved, since his momma would've slapped the black off him if he acted the fool.

Also also, given the area he grew up in, there's a disturbingly large chance he'd be related to my girlfriend.

Well, he wouldn't be living in the south, that's for sure.

You... haven't spent much time in the south, have you?

I read that entire article. Chris and Lanza have very little in common aside from the few things the OP mentioned. Chris isn't into guns and his violent fantasies are very cartoonish in nature. He wants the Game Place blown up like Wile E. Coyote tries to blow up the Road Runner. Chris will stew in hatred and misery, but he'll leave the house, loiter and hope that someone talks to him. Not a valid comparison it seems.

But I'll repeat what everyone else says...is/can Chris be dangerous? Indeed, but only behind the wheel of a car. And he seems to show almost total disregard for other's safety when fleeing in one. Personally, I don't think he should be driving at all, and the October Incident is proof of this.

Didn't Chris attempt to attack Snyder with his car in 2010, calculatedly and unprovoked?
