What Instrument would you want to be good at?

Either a synthesizer (so piano basically) or a lap steel guitar.

funnily enough, today I should be receiving a few mouthpieces for the pawn shop trumpet I impulsively bought.

I peaked as a guitarist at the age of like twelve, with my recital of “over the hills and far away,” but kept up with it sporadically until I moved and gave away all my shit as a sort of living will reading. But the thing is, I never got good enough to play things very well by ear.

Trumpet is an instrument you vocalize with. It has three buttons. If I think of something, I should be able to play it pretty fast. Also, I thought it would be nice to jam out to some Latin shit with the wife. It is her turn to be the guitar bro, and that will mean I will spend my time soloing on top of everything she tries to play, lol

I wish I could sing. The voice is such a valuable instrument, instantly connecting you to the listeners in a primal way. I tried. Really tried. I suck at a deep fundamental level at it.

Well at least I can play guitar.
I think you need to have an instrument, so even if you like, got a guitar that you never got better at than basic open chords, at least you could train your ear to know when you’re hitting the notes. You can feel the vibrations harmonize

You are in a golden age for both. You can pick up a reasonable lap steel for not much money these days.

Who sort of synth? There are some great ones out there for not much money or get a midi keyboard and some free soft synths, again there are loads out there.
