I do believe that there is a study linking lower testosterone levels in men (around >300ng/dl i believe) to depression.Come to think of it, it doesn't seem anyone has mentioned low testosterone yet, which is a potential root cause of feeling lethargic, directionless and having poor sleep, so this is also something you should consider.
You really don't need anything other than exercise, sunlight, and eating well to get to high enough testosterone level.
