What is Kiwifarm's commitment to Free Speech and supporting dissenting opinions? - Banned for Negging the farms.

You've probably heard Null talk about the state of free speech online. And there is the Nonprofit he plans to start for that purposes: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/the-charity.179965/

But, I want to ask: how committed is he to that ideal?

I am a sockpuppet of a recently banned user. My behavior was described by the moderator who banned me as "negging" kiwifarms and writing a legal defense for Epik. In simpler terms, I was banned because I was a dissenting voice.

I can further criticize the way I was banned in how it relates to transparency. I can see my ban message, If I log in on that account. However, there is no public ban message on my post. Other users replied to my last post after I was banned, yet none of them were aware that I was banned for what I had just said*. Whether intended as such or not, this serves to silently censor dissenting opinions.

This seems a little ironic considering that Null has complained that ISPs refuse to tell him why they ban him. Given this, if he wishes to ban certain criticism, he should be open about it.

*Most Xenforo sites have a special display ribbon that user gets when they are permanently banned. Kiwifarms doesn't. The only way to tell if a person is banned on Kiwifarms is to attempt to autocomplete their username, which doesn't work if they are banned. This wasn't something special for my case, but it means that users aren't going to be aware if someone has been silently banned.

It doesn't really matter if you get banned. Just make another account. This forum is like the old internet (kind of) it's all random and anonymous. No one knows who anyone is really. Your online reputation doesn't count because it's not real life.

If some place perma bans you just change your IP and make another account. That's only way to perma ban someone is to do an IP ban. I got banned from a forum in the late 2000's that way. The dumb fucker who did it didn't know you can just change your IP. Which is what I did. You have to see what kind of IP you have though. There are two types. static and dynamic. Dynamic means you can change it. Static means you can't. If it's static, you are kind of fucked with an IP pan. The only option you have is to call up your ISP and see if they will give you a dynamic IP instead. They can refuse to do this from what I have heard. The next option is a VPN. IP bans are kind of rare. When I used to troll up this video game forum back in the day they never did an IP ban on me. It wouldn't have mattered because I was using two different computers, and each one had their own seperate ISP services. I could change my IP whenever I wanted because the IP's were dynamic for both.

That said there's no line where free speech starts or ends, what free speech even is would be grounds for its own thread. Is letting a little kid run around screaming in a restaurant free speech, even though it makes it so nobody else can talk? It's sort of a meaningless term, it's understood culturally in spirit.

In this context free speech exists in relation to whatever is conducive to discussion.

Free speech is a right that protects you from the government, not from private organizations. In an ideal world where Kiwi Farms was just as easy to access as Reddit, these private corporations banning users for saying shit they don't like would just be a necessary evil. Anyone banned from Reddit, for example, could just find a site where they're allowed to just as easily and openly talk about whatever bullshit they want to. And anyone interested in hearing them could just as easily find that site as they could a site like Reddit.

The problem is that Kiwi Farms isn't just as easy to access as Reddit, because virtual tech monopolies (like Cogent) are effectively trying to make it impossible for users to access sites like Kiwi Farms. This is after years where advertisement of this forum was already suppressed by search engines and content algorithms. This is because Kiwi Farms hosts incriminating information that makes the people who work for these tech monopolies, and the troons and retards they're friends with, look bad. The government knowingly refuses to take action against these monopolies, because we host information that makes them look bad as well. So if these tech monopolies (which the government shouldn't allow to exist in the first place) are suppressing this forum based on our speech, and the government is doing nothing to prevent that, then the government is complicit in enabling suppression of speech that they are, in theory, obligated to prevent. And in an era where the internet is becoming humanity's primary means of communication, that isn't something anyone here is comfortable tolerating.

Any shit we ban you from Kiwi Farms for is either:

1. Unproductive bullshit that provides no unique insight and just makes the user experience worse for everyone else here, or
2. Retarded sperging that you could more easily say on any mainstream forum or social media platform than you could here. So we have no moral obligation to hold off on banning you, because it does jack shit to suppress your free speech.

More important than all that, though, and the reason I assume you were banned, is because this isn't a site intended for political doomerism in the first place. It's a site to laugh at retards, gawk at people who do unhinged shit, and shitpost about opinions that would get you banned on any other platform. And it's a site where, in theory, you're able to do that without pissing off or scaring the retards; without unintentionally becoming a moral paragon crusading against some psychopath with an animal crushing fetish; without people from the outside world and every breadtuber needing to see you shitposting about genociding the troons. If you aren't here to do that, you have no reason to be here.
