The appeal these days is to watch a middle-aged severely deluded retard, with a very serious victim complex, bullshitting his way through life, doing his damned best to run a cult and prove to "trolls" he is -in some way- successful. Dude is a clown slowly spiraling into insanity right in front of our very eyes; It's kinda fascinating to watch. I took a moment thinking about this, and a lot has been said that I totally agree with, but to make it short, what my personal points are:

- a long lore: even after years I discover new things
- like a good show / story, there is always a new crisis on the rising and if you look closely, you see the foreshadowing. Phil's delusional thinking always leads to new situation that shouldn't be possible to happen to a normal person, like going bankrupt while earning probably an average of around 150'000 Dollars per year together (no idea what people like Khet earn in the USA).
- there is almost every day at least 5 funny min, at least to my taste. Yesterday was of course a gourmet meal rant
- I enjoy the community around DSP. I like the songs and videos that are being made by people like Meerkat Mob or Dick Stocking Phil Vlogs, I like listening to That Being Said. I basically never watch or listen to Phil unfiltered.
- DSP was the first lolcow I really started following, and your first one of anything will always have a special place in your heart.

If you include his days on fighting game forums, DSP has been a laughing stock on the internet for over 20 years. Between TIHYDP and edits of his streams, it is impossible to ever run out of DSP content.

The thing that interest me in Phil is this: just how fucking weird he is and his mannerism's. Words like "style" and "positive" have been forever ruined for me by this 41 year old shut-in, but that's not what intrigues me. Phil is someone that is psychologically gone, or was never there. Not because he's a retard, but the long term effects of self isolation and how he constantly fucks his own life up, but it's always the fault of the trolls, haters, and critics. Besides that, the community surrounding Phil are for the most part, hella chill. The songs by MeerKat, Kool-Aid girl fucking slaps! That Being Said podcast - I can't handle Phil raw, so, getting the breakdown from old man ALT, Fantastic Mr Sam, and Meerkat is always a good time, Dick Stroking Phil Vlogs, and seeing the toy figure by Darksy DePhil and ItsAGundam with the G.U.Y. action figure and raising money for charity. Glad it was able to raise $5,000. Darsky mentioned it best: "If you weren't such an asshole Phil, people would actually love to do things for you.", along with such a HUGE talent pool in the detractor community. That and everyone has been kind, warm, and welcoming.

Going back to Phil, he is a interesting case study on everything. How much he lies "I had to lie to protect my family.", how much he projects his failures and anger onto everyone and everything "It was the trolls fault that I got fired from Twitch.", "I can't get sponsorships or partner deals because of you pathetic pieces of maggot eating shit.", him retconning/gaslighting his audience "'I wanted to hit an eleven year old girl.' what are you talking about? If I said that, do you think I'd be on Twitch today? No." And him being the master of his own demise, while pointing the finger at everyone else that it's not his fault on why he failed, but that sick motherfucker on the internet by the name of Tevin.

There's so many things and events that have happened that Phil has done, that all you can do is just laugh at the stupidity, while he rages and blames everyone but himself for his actions. That and the fact that he will lie about everything and even throw his own wife under the bus if it means it will bring him some extra money.

My favorite lie was when he claimed his parents were dying, well, they're fine...but they could die, and he really needs money to fly to the East Coast to see them, only to find out that they're in perfect health and not dying at all. Crisis averted...he went to CT to get secretly married, while his parents paid for the flights, hotel, rental car, food, and his mom gave him money to get on the payment plan for taxes that she wanted to pay for their honeymoon, but Phil and Kat couldn't go because...Phil was drowning in debt. What happened to that money he made before he went...? Well, it went to taxes.

Just about every other day, there is a new crisis and Phil needs your money to pay his daily bills and daily back taxes. Basically, he is the the never ending trainwreck that you can't look away from.

Just adding on to the general interest of Phil's lies, it's not necessarily the lies themselves, they actually tend to be pretty poorly thought out and make no sense (thought that does add to the funny) but how unnecessary the lies are. Going back to Phil's "I was robbed" story, it happened on his day off, there was no reason for him to go out of his way and make up a lie. It wasn't for attention because he immediately backpedaled and tried to downplay it, I don't remember there being any of his usual begging attached to it. He didn't try and make it a heroic story about him being brave and kicking some mugger's ass for internet badass points. He's not even a chronic Twitter user that is constantly lying to get views or likes or whatever else. It just really is second nature for him to lie, and as previously mentioned, he's so bad at it that he can't even begin to keep his story straight or ever make it sound even halfway believable.

Obviously not every lie is like that. I'd say most have a pretty obvious reason, protecting his ego in some fashion or victimizing himself to beg for money, but it's just another weird Phil quirk that makes him interesting. Well, interesting by cow standards.

Besides his constant lying, Phil is just a weird person in general. People that have met him in real life like Justin Wong, Jaha, Mike Watson, etc...have all mentioned that his internet persona is not the Phil in person. In person, he's very meek and quiet. Also, the more you dig deep into Phil's past, big ups to WPIG for this one, ALT found a old forum Phil lived his life on. No joke, he would post minutes apart and he let his true and honest thoughts flow. Also, the real Phil is a fucking creep and MAJOR weirdo.

Phil was trying to organize a tournament in a mall he used to frequent all the time. Yes, Phil was a mall rat. A lot of Street Fighter players didn't want to go to Bridgeport, as the farthest they would go is NYC, so Phil tried to convince people to come up to Bridgeport and while waiting for their match, they could walk around and "hit on 14 year old girls." Phil was in his mid 20's at this time. Do I think Phil was trying to be funny? I don't know, but let's be fair; no one in their 20's and right mind would joke around wanting to "hit on" 14 year old girls unless they're a fucking creep or they're sexually attracted to minors. If you are, my advice is this: get a shotgun, put as much shotgun in your mouth as you can, and put your big toe on the trigger and squeeze.

The other thing that honestly shocked me was the list about women. I'm surprised Phil didn't have his MGTOW arch, but he essentially said that all women were "sluts", "teases", and the cherry on top: "This list also applies to my mother." and "Every single woman in my life has let me down."

Gundam knows how to control the "A-logging" when he brings up DSP, but a couple of detractors are some of the most pathetic fags out there. Soma is the new Dsp after his former fans exposed his antics and simping (Akihito is Soma's Vidar or Oic), Doody went full retard trying to bring back Pandalee into the mix, and James the Lesser is just an insufferable faggot. Some of these guys just sniff their own farts too much (Golden Triangle, but to be fair he isn't as bad as other dentractors). AN1337 and Ludwig have their insufferable moments with An's shit taste in gacha games and Ludwige being a faggot over DSP and Perry Caravello (Yes Ludwig, people will make fun of you and An for Perry). After watching that part about DSP's hate for the Cannon brothers I think there is one aspect of Phil that is seldom talked about: his fear of competiton. Remember when he was big on youtube for a short moment and then suddenly other people began recording games with better quality and better jokes? He called them "not real gamers" or "He or she just wants to make easy money" totally ignoring he is also making easy money. That seems to be rooted in his past. The cannon brothers switched EVO from cabinets to consoles as cabinets became rare and consoles became the to go source for competitve games thanks to the rise of the internet. Phil wanted that Evo stays "cabinet only" to keep the "casual players" out. I think he was more afraid of additional competiton. After all not everyone is a casual some might find their calling and talent after playing on console which has away bigger reach. Phil hates being compared to others and compete with others. remember last year when he talked about that one streamer who died to GoW's first boss multiple times saying "Make a TIHYDP about him!" while lying about that guy's difficulty setting
