Battle of Gredetin - a rather famous Balkan battle between Serbia and the Ottoman empire. Many Bulgarians took part on the side of Serbs.

"Allied forces were commanded by general Chernyaev (a Russian), Bulgarian volunteers by Raicho Nikolov, Montenegrins - knyaz Nikola. Turkish forces were commanded by Abdul Kerim.

Allied forces were comprised of 10 000 Serbs, 400 Montenegrins and 3000 Bulgarians, after reinforcements - 6000, and 4000 Russians. Turks were 60 000 people. Allied artillery - 50 cannons and 30 tops (a type of Turkish cannon). Turkish artillery - 240 cannons. 300 Serb cavalry. Ottomans - 5000. The Allied goal was to take the fort."
