Stick lava under the floors of their wooden house and run, you'll be far away before they realise the house is on fire and as they try to put out the fire they won't realise the floor is disappearing underneath them and all that's under it is lava. Do this at night so as the fire takes out more of the walls the player becomes more open to attacks from hostile mobs.
