What is the buggiest game that you have ever played? - "They're not bugs, it's part of what makes the game SpEcIaL!"

The PC version of Saints Row 2 is just flat out broken on 99% of hardware, something about being tied to the CPU cores and clock speed of the 360. Everything ran at the wrong speed, physics was knackered, lots of visual glitches. First time I played it, I was lucky enough to have the 1% of processors that it worked with. Every time after that, complete disaster. There's some decent fan patches nowadays (RIP IdolNinja) that mostly fix it up.

Skyrim near release (I imagine it's still buggy now albeit somewhat less so than back when I played through it). I never played any but I know that the later asscreed games are buggy messes (along with most ubislop titles).

Divinity 2 (it's the Gamebryo engine but somehow glitchier and requires a shit ton of fixing)
Oblivion (guards coming after you through loading zones will literally spawn inside you and flash you their fucking backwards eyeballs)
Streets of Sim City (the whole game was a glitch, even back in the day. fun though)

I feel like I dodged so many bullets that I might as well be in the Matrix. I played New Vegas unpatched on the PS3 and aside from it crashing once or twice had zero issues the whole time.

My nomination goes to Orcs Must Die 2. OMD is one of those TD games where you've got an actual character and can fight the waves alongside your traps, but uniquely you can actually aggro them so it's a viable strategy to pull mobs back across traps or lead them in the wrong direction to stall, etc. It's also multiplayer, but unfortunately has the shittiest, buggiest netcode I've ever seen. As soon as you get to more than 50 creeps on the map all bets are fucking off for stability - sometimes a creep will fall into the void softlocking you by making the wave last forever. Sometimes your income just stops dead for no reason. Most often though the game will just unceremoniously boot you back to the main menu with a CONNECTION ERROR dialog even if you're playing on fucking LAN over gigabit ethernet with your damn college roommate sitting 5' away from you.

The game has an achievement for surviving 30 rounds in endless mode on any map (most maps end at 10-12). Roomie noticed that it had a 0.1% achievement rate on steam and decided we were going to get that damn achievement. We tried for a solid week, maybe a dozen attempts, and every single fucking one ended in one of the above issues around wave 25-28 due to the game just not being able to keep up with the number of creeps spawning.

I remember playing the original Rome Total War. This was back before games didnt update on their own, so I never bothered to patch it. Well, the original version of the game had a major bug in it where archer units's range attack damage was also applied to their charge defense, so if you charges any unit into an archer, the archers would always massacre them. Reason why egyptians were so broken in the game since they had the best archers plus that bug.

Then of course you advance nearly a decade later and Rome 2 Total War is one of the worst games ever made with non-existent AI.
The original release of Rome 1 also had an annoying bug where factions would just produce ships and spend entire turns just shuffling dozens of stacks of a single ship around. Empire had something similar and in its current state there is still a notorious bug regarding the Ottoman Empire. Ever noticed how the longer the game goes on the longer the Ottoman turn seems to take? That's because they spend their entire turn moving their stack in Constantinopole across the Bosphorus strait and back into the garrison at Constantinopole until it uses up all their movement points. Speaking of bugs regarding the Ottoman Empire, there's also the diplomacy bug where everyone ends up hating you because of the expansionism penalty but it only works for Euro nations, Ottomans, Marathans and Native Americans don't give a shit if you conquer land too fast and if you play as them then absolutely nobody gives a shit that you're conquering territory too fast. Attila has a bunch of bugs but the most notorious one involves the unit upgrade system being broken for some factions, that's why when you research the tech that upgrades Germanic Levy to Germanic Spearmen, your garrisons suddenly drop from 3-5 Germanic Levy to just 1.

Regarding Rome 2, while they've fixed all of the glaring issues from the release version the campaign and battle AI is still completely fucking retarded, it's why Rome 2 is the only TW I can't stomach playing completely vanilla (plus a host of other issues). Medieval 2 is probably the easiest TW game and the AI there is still lightyears ahead of Rome 2 AI, even if the Medieval 2 battle AI can be exploited easily on the campaign map factions at least take territory and recruit big armies with powerful units, I remember the last time I played Rome 2 completely vanilla I played as Athens on LEGENDARY and by the time I got to Italy Rome still didn't beat the Etruscan League. The biggest rival "empire" I faced was Pontus with a whopping 12 regions (I had over 40 at the time) and their armies consisted of Bodyguard+19 Eastern Spearmen. Unless you mod the shit out of the game I can't see how anyone can play and enjoy singleplayer Rome 2, I have a mod that gives the AI better recruitment logic and I still can run into armies in late game that have a chunk of their armies consisting of levy trash.

genuinely impressed that nobody's mentioned this piece of shit yet

I guess most people here are smarter than me and know not to play this kind of slop, but I played this thing's leaked copy a week before release (on emulator of course) and holy shit lol.

These specific bugs are from multiplayer, but they're a good indication of just how broken the game is. Shit like this is common everywhere in the game, from the abysmal frame rate (can barely keep a steady 20fps despite the entire game being 240p graphically) to the constant lag and endless t-posing (mostly during fade-to-black sequences), you cannot play this piece of shit without experiencing at least one crash every half-hour and the game is NEVER working properly.

I still remember all the cries of "oh, it's just the emulation glitching out, the full release will be better!" and then it came out and all those retards either shut up or kept blaming emulated copies (while people kept posting about legitimate ones). God bless this awful series

The DLCs for S/V also somehow managed to have even worse performance than the main game.

I do wonder who has the bigger Stockholm Syndrome in regards to defending their buggy ass game, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet fans, or The Sims 4 fans. I also found it interesting that both games went in the opposite design of their previous games, as in S/V being an open-world game compared to the previous games being fixed-maps, and TS4 dropped the open-world gameplay from The Sims 3 for separate lots with loading screens like Sims games before TS3.

Fallout New Vegas is the buggiest shit ever

I really wanted to play it again 15 years later. Figured I'd enjoy it even more now because everything nowadays is gay or retarded. But for the love of God, I cannot get it to stop crashing. I literally have tried everything: mods, console commands, moving the files around, running it in low specs (despite having a space station PC), etc. It's a shame too because I really am enjoying way more now than when I was iny early 20's.
I first played that game on PS3.
