What is the logical reasoning behind grifter enablers?

Given the recent threads in Prospering Grounds about various grifters (or scammers, bc that's what they are), I started to wonder why there are so fucking many of them everywhere and why they don't seem to go away. You have the trannies and the black people in Gofundme and Kickstarter, the e-whores in Twitch and Onlyfans, and the Youtubers.
But why are people so willing to throw away their cash at them? Why do they look at the grifters and think, "Hmm yes, I'm going to give my money to this mofo"? Especially people who "donate" money to content creators like Youtubers, streamers and "artists". Why? Is it a cultural thing? Maybe people from certain cultures are more gullible than others.

It makes them feel like they are "friends" with the content creator or "in a relationship" with the e-girl. It's stupid, and it demonstrates the very real and often severe harm social media has caused multiple generations. We can share 60 FPS HD video of whatever bullshit we want but as a consequence young people are no longer able to form meaningful or healthy relationships with other humans. Maybe that was a fair trade.

I think its both extreme parasocial relationships, birds of a feather mentality, and thinking that what they are doing is right. The fact they think they're good buddies with an e-celeb would make it seem like it is their job to help a friend in need (Despite the fact said e-celeb may or may not have dropped out college, quit their job, and might be relying on family checks.) whenever they say stuff like "I love you guys" or "You guys are like family too me." they literally think they mean it.
Trannies and Blacks? They just think they're doing the right thing along with some mentality they have to stick together. A trans woman is going through struggles of supposedly "transphobic death threats" and is begging for money to eat or sleep? Better throw out some couple of big bucks trannies gotta stick it to those bigots. Black person who is clearly a racist against whites is struggling to pay rent? Put on that #BLM on your account and send some money to them so you can prove you aren't totally a racist towards them.

They also want to be seen as a goody two shoes for sending money towards them. While getting that dopamine rush of being praised by them.

but what about the people who donate to them? why don't they realize it's all a scam? are they grifters themselves? or just too naive.

I'd say naive. Some of them really believe those grifters shitty excuse about "muh death threats" and "muh mental illness" as an excuse to why they are still begging for money.

What's more, I think these naive people fit in a specific profile. I may be wrong, but most of them probably have a middle-class, religious background, and either they had financial struggles before and know what it is like or they have no idea.

First you have to analyze grifters to find out how they take advantage of their "prey"...

They're emotionally manipulative, they're good at gas lighting, and are well versed in using what I call "debate magic" [sleight of hand in debate]...


There's quite a few reasons grifters have so many enablers. There's the do-wellers who believe the world isn't that bad and those kind of people wouldn't just make shit up for no reason, right? There's those who try to become part of the social circle who know the grifter is full of shit but think they'll gain whether it be in friends, or other novel benefits from being close to the grifter (and sometimes they do), there's the people who have a light on but nobodies home who just kind of follow their peers and go along with the grifter because they don't think for themselves.

Some others include: Grifters being in on some belief that the "prey" has leading to the victim supporting the grifter because "they think like me." There's the silver spooned spoilt-rich kids who feel they don't deserve the money they have and will gleefully fund grifters, and even those willing to believe some insane claim by the grifter out of desperation. (Think hands on healing people as an example)

It comes down to those who are willing, desperate, and don't mind wasting the money and those who just want something to follow as a group (loneliness/etc.) It's why get rich quick schemes work on so many people, and what not. It suspends their (the victims) disbelief to follow something that should be obviously not true.

There is one final part, sometimes the people do realize it's a scam, but they've invested so much money they can't swallow their pride and just accept they lost that money so they'll keep supporting the group: See scientology. Many celebrities have admitted they still support it because admitting they were wrong for supporting them would make them look like idiots, so instead of just quitting while ahead they'd rather keep supporting it as part of the group in case it pans out in some form. Pure lunacy.

Well, I'd say some of them get to a point where they actually believe they are providing a service or stopping other forms of manipulation and substituting it with their own. Kind of reminds me of that movie "The last exorcism." The pastor in that movie is the perfect example of a grifter or conman believing they're doing the right thing or preventing some other destructive human behavior.

I'd also add charities into the mix too, since most money goes to some fat cat's pocket and not to the actual purpose of the charity/drive.

I'm also sure some grifters after a while begin to believe their own nonsense. Similar to actors playing a role and after a while begin to take on characteristics of the character they're portraying because they've convinced part of their mind they are that person/character. There have been cases of actors actually becomign somewhat loopy after taking on some roles. I guess the concept of "fake it until you make it" would apply in this concept.


In such cases it's kind of funny because the person intent on using and deceiving others fools themselves as well.

Oh yeah, charities should be included in the list. I'd rather see people donating to charities instead of wasting money on e-beggars, but it's always useful to make sure that money is going to end up in good hands. I prefer donating to local organizations and groups, at least I can know personally the people behind them.

Yes, that's right. I think that's one of the main reasons, at least in wealthy western countries. Too much consumerism, too. Notice that many grifters ask money for trivial shit like a trip to Disney or new amholes.

Of course I'm right. Just look at NFTs. I wouldn't be surprised if the same "dead internet" AI's that are inflating NFTs are supporting "content" grifters too, based on some facile machine logic.
 
How many of the donations are "fake" or just between friends ("pay me and I'll pay you back later") to trick naive followers into donating? For example, I'm sure most histories of onlyfans thots becoming rich overnight are fake as to provide advertising to the platform. In patreon, dangerhairs donate to each other so the supposed earnings cancel themselves.
