What passes for "the left" in the West is anything but, it's a neoliberal virtue signalling circle jerk that's massively in support of a hypercapitalist status quo and a postmodernist philosophy that goes completely against dialectical materialism. I'm an old fashioned communist and I'm sick of the liberals co-opting the language and symbols of leftism while promoting the antithesis of it. There's absolutely no analysis of class or workers' rights any more; if anything they're anti-worker because they want bosses to have the power to fire employees at will if some busybody sees they said something they don't like on Twitter once and goes whining to their manager. There isn't even any focus on collective interests, it's all about the individual and not about what groups have in common or uniting around that cause. They'll even promote prostitution as some wonderful liberating industry because one or two people got rich off it and ignore the millions of victims. And that then leads to "individual truth" and "personal truth" that prizes someone's subjective perceptions and "identity" (whatever that means) over actual objective reality. If these people ever read any Marx or Engels, they'd be calling for them to be cancelled and their books burned.
Chinese communists have words for these people, "baizuo" and "shengmubiao" that are pretty much equivalent to "SJW" or "virtue signaller", but explicitly from the actual Left, so they can't be so easily dismissed as just right-wing smears.
When was the last time you heard any of these people talk about trade unions, safe working conditions, fair wages, co-operative ownership of corporations, access to clean water, housing, cost of living, parenting (either staying at home or getting childcare, both are difficult for working class people), school funding, access to education, unemployment, disability or any issues actually affecting the working classes? These are issues that the old Left offers answers to and engages with, but this shower of liberals don't address them at all, and when we do, they chide us for using the wrong pronouns or not using their latest woke shibboleths to shut us up - and people who have jobs or are busy looking after families aren't on Twitter all the time or going to their seminars to keep up with the latest language, so naturally this will exclude the working class (as well as people from cultures that don't do this bullshit). Look at the DSA videos to see how effective that can be, the speaker kept getting shouted down about petty shit like pronouns or clapping, she barely got to speak and nothing got done. It's a shame and I hope when (not if) the backlash comes against it it'll not just be left to the conservative Right to deal with it all, we need to root it out from the Left and make it clear it's nothing to do with us and we can actually address these issues.

One way or another, they are just roadblocks that despite their calls for detente, don't actually commit or help anyone. Centrists are centrists so that they can pretend they are smarter than everyone else, but when it comes to reform, they are the first to stop anyone who tries. They're cosplay diplomats that don't have any actual influence with anyone, thus the failure of IDW.

The point of a leader is to project confidence, strength and courage to their followers and to rally them towards a goal. Do you honestly think that white people are just going to sit around and say oh yeah, maybe we are evil and we should be the second class citizens for a change.

Or do you think that most people have a natural sense of fairness and they resent being held responsible for crimes they didn’t commit? They don’t even try to think of where all this is going and what it’s going to lead to. They leave behind the carcasses of every “friend“ who has ever started to think for themselves or disagreed with them. The most extreme of them do not have friends, they have allies. Something very nasty is going to have to happen to shake a significant amount of them up. They really do exhibit a lot of cult like qualities. I think it’s probably very hard for them to even consider they might be supporting harmful destructive rhetoric because they are constantly being told we are the good ones, we care we are all about peace and love.

I was a dem in the past and it took a bit for me to snap out of that nonsense and to get to a point where I realized you don’t need an empathetic government/leader, you need a system that will do what’s best for your country and it’s citizens and that won’t always be a kumbuyah moment. They are lead by emotion , this is their strategy.

It's only a failure if you believe that their goal isn't to roadblocks. I think they're succeeding at being roadblocks to any revolution in thinking. People like Sargon may be too dumb to see the effect of their own role, but at least half the people in the IDW are not that dumb.

There I like to apply one of Peterson's adages. "You have to consider the possibility that the result was the intended goal of activism rather than the stated goal".

Three things:

1. The simplest way to understand a leftist is to ask them two questions. Which side understands/empathizes the other side? And, what is the right-wing's honest argument for their position? They cannot answer this. 2. Any hobby, work, or study group always implicitly slides leftist over time unless explicitly calls each issue out or the group has to be the most offensive right-wing stereotype to drive them off. Why do the right put up with racists, sexists, or anyone else the left hates? hmm, maybe so we can be as free as the sexist or racist we hang around. That level of freedom is hard to find.
3. Once you see the lie, you cannot go back. Plenty of people like Jon Oliver's HBO show, until they hear him speak to a topic they actually understand, then the lightbulb goes off. Everyone is right on what they know, and left on what they don't know.

What is it about the left that makes you angry? That riles you up?
