I am genuinely curious about why Subway seems to be so vehemently hated by people. I have honestly never had a problem with them. Admittedly I have some very basic go tos. Either the sweet onion chicken teriyaki or the tuna, but no matter which store I have gone too, it's always been good (especially for the price) and most important for any chain, it has always been consistent no matter what store I go too.

I do note however that I have never once ordered their white bread and dont like lettuce on my sandwiches so never order that either. I seem notice those two ingredients in particular seem to be a bone of contention.

For me it's just too basic and inoffensive to warrant any hate, it's neither particularly bad or particularly good

Subway made a very insensitive ad awhile back and their reputation never recovered:

The quality of the food provided fluctuates wildly depending on how much of a shit the store manager and employees give. Most don't really care if they're handing out half-spoiled garbage, if they're not paying attention to the customer requests.

Part of this is because opening and running a franchise of Subway is extremely cheap which means many people who don't know their asses from their elbows end up running one. The rest is pure laziness on the part of the store owners.

i like subway but the only one in my town closed down several years ago so i haven't had it in ages

why people hate it, i don't know. they used to run ads with a weird fat dude who talked about losing weight thanks to subway, then later he turned out to be a pedo, that was pretty bad for their brand i think.

It's bland and basically guaranteed to give you the runs. You can very easily just make a better sub at home, even on the cheap, and be comfortable in knowing that at least you don't have shit stuck under your fingernails while you slap meat and lettuce on your food.

Low grade food at high prices. I would rather go to the Viennese sub places here or get a donair. It's about the same price with better quality ingredients. Hell, I can go to the local grocery store and pay $10 for a massive sub sandwich that takes me two days to eat.

It's mostly just decent for me. I don't hate it, but I never go out of my way to get something from there either (Usually when I get something from there, its because one just happened to be near where I currently was).

The only time I ever had a problem with them was when I had one of the Garlic Bread Meatball Subs. That shit was one of the worst things I've ever had the displeasure of eating.
