Right pocket is for lighter and phone.
The pants I wear have an oddball pocket on the thigh which is perfect for a pack of cigs.
Right-back pocket is temporary storage for if I'm working on something.

Agreed for the most part. Carpenter jeans have the same thigh pocket, great for a sap/blackjack (If legal in your area. I don't smoke cigs, and carrying a firearm is highly illegal here). Back pocket for nothing, because sitting on my stuff sucks, and it makes it easier for people to pick your pocket. This thread makes me feel bad for the ladies, can't even put a pinky in those pockets.

That's why it's temporary storage. Like If I got my hands full and need to carry one more small object from one side of a room to the other or a tool I will need like a skrewdriver or a wrench but at the moment the free hand is needed. I also use it for other people's money if I'm running an errand for them. It's an easy way to not mix up my shit with their shit.
