That one day GodJesus will ascend from the Heavens bringing him a boy-friend free girl and smiting the evil trolls that have tormented him for eternity.

Alec Benson Leary said:Sometimes, I look at a cat or a dog, and I think to myself, how does this animal endure its lifestyle? How does it feel satisfied living in such a limited fashion, where its greatest triumph is earning a treat from its master for trivial tricks?Anchuent Christory said:I suppose at the end of the day, his scope is so spectacularly limited that he doesn't really dream great dreams. He's always been happy of the routine of eat, sleep, vidya.
The thought is absurd, of course. Cats and dogs can't comprehend higher purposes or desires as we humans can. I only think it when I am idly bored, and of course I laugh about how silly it is to desire for an animal to pursue non-material concerns.
Yet, this is the same way Chris lives.

Anyone else would see the on coming darkness of Chris's life post Blorb and either would make some changes or just give into dispair and end it. There is nothing left for Chris but increasing isolation and loneliness as he ages.
But not OPL. He carry on as is, suffering each day while blaming the world for his pain.
It's why I love him.

I'm sure that Chris has already written the narrative in his mind about how Barb will be better off when she's in Heaven with Pop. It's what rationalizes his current mindset of "I don't care if you've raised me for 30 years. Fuck You!"

Which begs the question, just say Chris' prophesied sweetheart appears at the door of 14 Branchland Court tomorrow and whisks Chris away to life he genuinely believes he's entitled to.
What would happen to Barb? Would Chris leave her to fend for herself or would he demand his sweetheart take on that responsibility as well?
Holdek said:Based on how Chris operates and thinks, I would guess he would try to get this sweetheart to find Cole to return and help take care of their mother so that the sweetheart and Chris can be together.

Chris wouldn't care about Barb
"Your mom is crying. I think she fell down the stairs. Shouldn't we go check on her?"
"Mmm. She'll be... She'll... She's fine."
Peepee said:He certainly used to try. His Love Quest, for example, no matter how misguided and absurd, was an example of him being proactive to the best of his ability to usher change into his life. Even if there were shades of laziness (wanting girls to approach him) to his tactics, he was still taking the initiative to get himself dressed and get himself out of the house on a routine basis. He has lost that gumption entirely.
Holdek said:I think he would still try this but Barb doesn't let him go out.

That is a good point, because he did just recently tell Cole that he wants to be relieved from his duties at Barb's side so he can go out to find a sweetheart.
Prior to these recent developments where he became completely trapped at home with Barb, though, what had he been doing to find a girlfriend? Fridays After Five is the most recent thing I can think of, and that was three years ago.
Maybe the problem isn't so much that he's lost the will to try. Maybe he just doesn't have any more ideas on how to approach this, and now that he's stuck under Barb's thumb he wouldn't have the chance to enact any schemes he might come up with, anyway.
Whatever the case may be, he's definitely not happy with the state of things.
Kosher Dill said:Of course he's been looking for a girlfriend. He specifically listed his hangouts where you can meet him in-person and dutifully waited there day after day for his Future Wife to show up. It's just that the Officers of the Badge keep tossing him out for loitering, making real-life socialization obsolete.
