Reddit posting is basically the less formal equivalent of the message of the mainstream media, Democratic party, and corpos. Pretty insidious when you think about... They've trained young people to think they're badass rebels simply for being left-wing, when in reality they're useful idiots for the establishment that are bringing about our technocratic/cyberpunk dystopia.
 
infantilization, smugness, fake-edgyness, using marketing language in casual discussion and always toeing the establishment party line and agreeing with the "consensus opinion" while pretending to be irreverent.

Its like those community managers on twitter who post corporate-safe memes under their brand's accounts except in reddit they pretend to be debating as normal users.

Reddit is where a heroin user in the communist hardcore punk subreddit will still try to make their post heckin wholesome and post their needle full of dope next to a picture of the new favorite fast food restaurant meal they ordered with their favorite app to shoot dope and eat while watching the new popular cartoon on the new popular streaming service and also their hammer and sickle flag bought on amazon. When you see people behaving like this outside reddit you still call it reddit and everyone understands the insult.

Just because the component parts exist elsewhere, it's about the perfect storm that makes things so unbearably reddit.

Peddit updoots are uniquely terrible and affect discovery of content. They also community-police them. Here, sometimes, people literally ask for hats. Organically retarded/oppositional posts get highlighted. The most "controversial" threads, on A&N, are still small enough that sticker-based content discovery doesn't matter. A&N bans/discourages editorializing.

Appealing to the crowd doesn't mean appealing to what is most popular in the normie sphere, it's appealing to any crowd through shallow flattery. I can think of a few distinct qualities that become a redditor;

Inauthenticity
Entitlement
Being a total wimp in both the physical and mental sensibilities/feminine male disease
Contriving and/or carefully Tailoring beliefs, statements, and personality in a way most likely to guarantee "upvotes" from other users
Giving any amount of a shit about how other people react to what is said or done, caring about things like "upvotes"
Social Awkwardness, having an aura of Patheticry
Following all of the embarrassing trends and micropropagandas that globohomo regularly feeds to the public (redditors LOVE repeating things, like a parrot. They love nothing more in this world than repeating a "fact.")
Being completely unable to comprehend, respect, or emotionally cope with other people's opinions
Wasting time by engaging in provocative arguments that hold no comedic value and serve only to be a platform to bitch and moan like a woman
Inability to laugh at oneself and take people making fun in stride; reacting to these kinds of shitposts and nonsense by initiating gay little arguments and whine like a gay little idiot
