Back in the 90's or early 2000's, there was this prison outreach program run by a lawyer who negotiated shorter sentences for his clients and offered them a free place to crash and job skills training after their release.
It was shut down after the ATF investigated it and found out the guy was giving them paramilitary training and wanted to create Outer Heaven, but ruled by ex-convicts and the "criminally-ingenious", as he put it.
If I remember correctly, he fled to Tanzania or some other shithole african country and got visas for his crew, but most of them ratted him out or got caught and served a prison sentence.
Does anyone know what the lawyer's name was?
