option 1: research
- joining a team studying Zanzibar, actual topic isn't set in stone. Could pivot this literally any way I want as long as it's relevant (like, saying how colonialism/development/trade was good for the island)
- Prof is chill, experience could look good on a CV
- Not really my academic interest but it's tons of creative freedom to be paid to fuck around on databases
- No this does not involve me going to Africa lmao
option 2: work at a gym
- can work as many hrs I want (up to like 19/week)
- good if I just want money
- not really cv worthy/relevant
- already have training from working there a year ago, so orientation will be easy
- basically just sitting at a desk, swiping people in
Wages between the 2 are similar (like 15-17 an hr) though hours might be low for the former depending on how involved I am. I'm taking like 14 academic credits and really just want money on the side
