It may come as a shock, but China is a first world country in the big cities. They pretend to be a shithole so that no one questions their trade balances. The typical Chinese immigrant today is a purely economic migrant who didn't want to deal with the Chinese rat race. The US and co. are considered easy countries. That said, China has the appeal of being without the Asian's greatest predator, black people.

Are the US and co actually that chill for Asians compared to their home countries? I know China, Korea, India etc. can be brutal AF, but apparently the H1B + green card route can be pretty agonizing itself. Like on job applications, being a noncitizen is like a 10x handicap. That's why Master's programs, at least here, are so full of 'em.

Maybe in Canada and Australia it's a bit easier, since I hear Canada is absolutely swamped with Indians (though then again so are we kinda), and, well, Aussie is politically "kookaburra" (or whatever progressive granola nature girl analogy you wanna use) in general. But I think even among Asians, they know US > the rest of the Anglosphere.

Is the Chinese system actually that much harder compared to ours? Or is this a case of Long-long Wang and Arjun Waanabee Aryan not knowing better and thinking they can run away to America after secondary school (or whatever they call high school there) and use a "get out of gaokao free" card and live in a new world of eternal paradise because they're rich?

Yes, absolutely yes. Despite the kvetching you hear, I work substantially with fresh off the boat chinks. Very few go back to China except by choice. Getting an education in a US university might as well be a free ticket to stay in the US.

Also, as someone with insider knowledge of elite chinese universities, it really depends. Their coursework is super trivial if you're smart. A Peking University student can sleep through their courses, cram a few days, and make an A. Getting into an elite college is a golden ticket to an easy life. You'll have lots of opportunities and get paid as well as an American. If you don't make it, well, that's where it gets rough. There will be 10 people with degrees looking for every non-shit job opening. China just graduates way too many engineers etc. If you went to a middling university for undergrad, you'll apply for any decent US grad program possible to avoid dealing with the hellscape that is the typical chinese work environment. The country really doesn't have enough good jobs for its massive population, which does not lack for smart people. It is absolutely impossible to brain drain china.

Aside, professors at good universities in China have it good. The university pays for their students.

I have a big soft spot in my racist heart for Filipinos. My encounters with them have been overwhelmingly positive, both at work and in social circles. They combine the qualities of hard work + playfulness... like they have the typical Asian studiousness and intelligence but they also know how to let loose and banter. Tend to be Christian, very family oriented and wholesome prosocial values. They're good at cooking and singing. And when they racemix with white people, they have very attractive offspring. Only thing you have to watch out for is the toxic gossip among Tita's of the older generations, but even that can be entertaining.

Unironically the US should make a reservation area for immigrants, maybe take a massive chunk out of Utah and Colorado. Nobody is allowed in or out and the entire area is completely uninhabited. Immigrants are dropped in and if they can survive for five years they can come into the country, really take the old libshit argument of "we're all illegal immigrants anyways" to heart. You can't rough it like the OG illegals, then you're free to GTFO.

I don't mind Asians, they always seem to contribute to society and actually do useful work without gaming the benefits system. The ones I've met/worked with have always been pretty cool. Plus, I like their food.

Fuck everyone else though. Britain needs total Paki death, which will hopefully be a message for any other sponge nationalities.

If we weren’t full and 1997 onwards had never happened, we could happily have SMALL numbers of law abiding scandis, Aussies, kiwis. A very few Gurkhas, japs and the more Māori side of the polynesians. Some flip nurses. The usual few eastern euros. HK, honestly most places would be OK as long as it’s very few people. Really England has been very tolerant and SMALL quantities of people who worked hard and tried to integrate was ok. But small numbers.
Absolutely no one with an incompatible cultural or religious outlook.
The main problem is the sheer number of them. We simply can’t keep importing a small city’s worth of people a year. It would at that level be disastrous even if they were all law abiding and decent. When they’re rapist savages, even small numbers are bad and a city’s worth every year is suicidal.
Immigration is only ok in numbers small enough to not do any demographic, political or infrastructure impact.

At this point, none. We don't have the room for any more people here. Our housing and health care is holding on by a fucking thread. I don't care if a bunch of young, big tittied Ukrainian women flee here from the war. It will make matters worse in the long term.

The only exceptions I will entertain as reasonable are O-1 (I think is the class) which is the actual genius level contributor of rare skill and those are fucking rare. Figure out nuclear fusion power? Yeah ok well take you. Massive advancement in some field? Yeah ok you're fine.

The other exception would be someone who helps the USA at great risk to themselves. If someone very hypothetically gave us Intel on the CCP or something else that meant their head is on a platter in their home country we should take them too.

My exceptions I imagine are in the a couple hundred a year at absolute most.

Tourism allowed but when your visa is up you go the fuck home.

O-1 needs an overhaul since it's full of loopholes (like "publish x number of articles in scientific magazines"), and is already being gamed by pajeets. Give it a year or two before the sewer gates fully open, and US starts getting flooded with 85-IQ Indian "geniuses" at Canadian rates.
