What separates activism from SJW-ism?

One more thing is activists who have a very legit disability who can't go out to march or volunteer can say "this is bad" and give info to something that's supportive of their cause without being a giant cunt about it.

Example of good: "Hey it's cool that you're trying to help but Autism Speaks is more about commercialism than representing autistic people and most of your money is being wasted. ASAN is better because they represent autistic people and your donations will help autistic people who need it today. (Pretend necessary links are here.)"

Example of bad: "You're trash for supporting A$ and I hope you die in a fire you autism hating ableist!"

Well, at least in my experience, another thing that separates the two is that activists want to endorse and participate in genuine stuff, while SJWs are mostly concerned with trivial stuff like movies or video games.

A lot of people around here say they tend to lean left, but a lot of posts that start supporting a more leftist view tend to get a lot of negative ratings (as if that meant anything, but whatever) and people haranguing them.

Personally, I think the biggest point is when it starts to become about oppressing people who disagree. Just trying to silence people never works out for anyone.

I think it's simpler than that, determined by the presence or absence of critical thinking. If the position doesn't stand up to even the most basic scrutiny but they keep pushing it anyway, they're an SJW.
