What snapped and made this world go (even more) crazy starting in 2020?

One thing can lead to another. Lockdowns probably fed the summer of love.

Identity politics was already on the rise. TDS increased the urgency of insane people since as early as the 2015-2017 period. It increased their power, allowing them to capture and corrupt many institutions. Good liberals don't stand in the way of fighting the threat of evil white supremacist fascist Nazis, unless they want to be smeared as racist.

Shortages can be complicated, but households were partially to blame for some of it. Remember the toilet paper fights? I'll help cause a shortage as long as I get mine.

There's almost always a situation in the housing market, and it's almost never in your favor.

The current war between Russia and Ukraine dates back to 2014.

I haven't paid that much attention to the r/fuckcars movement. Has it gotten crazy? Some people believe that if we don't reverse climate change within X years, the planet will burn.

#MeToo insanity predates 2020. Maybe you're just going to see more and more insanity as the years roll by.

The China virus and the "new normal" is now long gone. It's over.

The peaceful protests were all fake astro-turfed BS to impact to the 2020 elections. It didn't work. It was a few thousand people across several blue cities. It wasn't even that big of a deal. But thanks to the media signal boosting it and Boomer tier idiots acting like the whole country was falling apart and outrage spammed shit about it everywhere like retards.

The Democrats stole the election in 2020 with the help of Republicans and the FBI. About 100,000 votes or so across 5 states. AZ GA PA WI and MI. Those 5 states gave us Biden for 4 years.

The shortages are over as well. Pretty much everything is back to normal, but everything cost more now because of the inflation.

The housing market has always been a problem. Like student loan debt. The government just keeps putting band-aids on it and kicking the can down the road. It's a problem the government caused and encouraged. It's still going on.

The Russian and Ukraine thing has been an issue for a while. It's not new. The Russians always pull this kind of shit. They don't know how to do anything other than invading their neighbors to enslave them for their own benefit. Think of it as a screwed-up version of Make Russia Great Again. Instead of doing something themselves to make Russia great. They invade and enslave their Eastern European neighbors. Just now Russia isn't strong enough to actually do it, so they are really whiny about it. Like a kid not getting their way.

They will never "end cars". The US is in pretty bad economic decline. No one is going to be buying an overpriced electric car anytime soon. Hell, people can't even afford to buy the gasoline powered cars. Car sales have been declining for the past 15 years or so. They used to say you had 5 years to pay off a car. But over the past decade I have seen it go as high as 7 years. That's almost a decade to pay off a car. They only do this because no one is buying cars.

I suspect the election of Donald Trump set off the hysteria, but the problems had been building for almost 30, maybe 40 years.

The root of the problem is that people with an entirely different mindset and vastly less talent than the people who could actually build and maintain the complex systems of society seized power. (They had power in national politics for far longer, but they had vastly less influence in the world of business and state and local life, where they were essentially space aliens in the 50s/60s/70s.)

They found out, one hijacked system and institution at a time, that they had no idea how to actually keep it functioning themselves. To keep it working, they needed the people they displaced and despise, which wounds their narcissistic vanity. Instead of keeping and promoting productive men (who would be a political threat purely due to knowing what they're doing when the master doesn't), they started outsourcing everything Harvard Business school didn't prepare them to actually manage.

They know things are falling apart under their rule. Hillary Clinton once unguardedly claimed that the role of American politicians is to "manage the decline", which they see as an inevitability. They also know that they cannot allow people to fix things. If people were allowed to start fixing and running their own communities and businesses on their own initiative, the wrong sort of people would start becoming rich again. Wealth leads to leisure time to pursue longer term goals like political influence, which would ensure that the grip of the robber-sociopaths would be loosened. They would have no chance, gripping their dead zombie institutions, against a competing political class fresh from building functioning industries that fix problems and employ people.

All the madness is an attempt to sow chaos to keep people from finding their feet (also just the result of incompetence with actual productive/creative work.)

The hyperinflation keeps people whose source of wealth is production instead of finance from storing wealth.

The rioting keeps local small businesses (like that famous bookstore in Minneapolis) burnt out and poor, rather than the nucleus of organic community.

The refusal to perform any kind of generational turnover keeps anyone with any kind of empathy for their youner peers from defecting and giving them a better deal, instantly outmaneuvering the other zombie institutions. Things have to be kept *uniformly* awful for the robber-sociopaths to keep power.

The shortages are part of keeping people powerless, but also just a natural consequence of retards outlawing fertilizer.

The attacks on farmers and livestock producers are a bid to keep people who have always had a large degree of natural independence from becoming a competing political elite.

The anti-male and anti-white racism are part of beating down people who could become dangerous. (Dangerous due to the possibility of knowing how to fix things and run things well.)

The lockdowns and censorship are a direct bid to keep people from developing alternative associations.

It's basically all about suppressing the competent so that no one turns to them in preference to vicious abusers who only know how to make speeches, connive, and fuck things up.

the rage about building the wall, the global supply chain getting fucked, it's all just pedos and associated monsters trying to keep their human trafficking flow going

There was this thing called the Wu-Flu that spread around the world in late 2019 and exploded in 2020 and it freaked out the whole world, and the response to this pandemic by governments and NGOs also freaked out the whole world. I don't know if you were around for it or not my guy but it was a pretty big deal.

While some had been engaged even before then, the biggest flashpoint for the extremely-online crew (and the less-online crew is entirely downstream; Trump, 2020, etc. are all in this class) was GamerGate. It got a lot of folks active, and shattered the illusions that the state and media had been pushing so hard. 2016 brought the political folk around, and 2020 was when that GamerGate awareness wave hit a lot of the normies, as finally, the authoritarian bullshit pushed by the state and corporate media reached into their lives to impact them.

People were given big amounts of money to stay home, in many cases drink and not work. People were given real freedom in their lives to do whatever they wanted for a while. And most of them went totally crazy. There were of plenty of people who made more not working that year than they ever did working.
Free people from their responsiblities, free them from work and give them lots of leasure time.....and you will typically discover than the vast majority can neither handle it or even enjoy it.

For the few, it was a totally epic year where anything you wanted to do, you could do. But for the many, they just sat around drinking, watching the internet and getting angry over things that made no sense.

The "summer of love" was 100% astro-turfed BS. The only thing feeding it was the Democrats and the media. It didn't help that a bunch of Boomer tier fucktards went around acting like the whole country was involved. It was a few thousand people in a few shitty blue cities in some shitty blue states. It was something the Democrats did to try and impact the 2020 election which didn't work. They ended up having to steal the election anyway. If they didn't Trump would have won. Their shitty little plan failed. Which is why you don't see anymore of it. Notice after the election niggers stopped kneeling at the sportsball games niggers getting killed by cops was no longer talked about constantly BLM is basically dead and no one has heard a peep from Antifa. Other than the odd story from the states where they operate like in Washington and Oregon. Even then it's not much. A dozen or so Antifa weirdos went out in the streets and made trouble.

The Democrats and their leftist friends put all the toys back in the box. That doesn't mean they won't drag them out again if they get desperate. Like say in 2024 where they are scared to death Trump will get the GOP nomination and win the general election. Which looks like it will likely happen. If they get desperate you might see them drag out the BLM niggers and the Antifa faggots. But I don't suspect they will because it would mostly help Trump and not hurt him.

I think there were two primary pressures; Woke Marxists who wanted a literal revolution, and an elite class still throwing a tantrum over Trump and Brexit, and eagerly looking to break all their toys to spite the white working class that had the temerity to tell them "no" for the first time in 40 years. The second group enabled the first.

Neither of those things would've caused much strife if the culture wasn't in such decline already. Western society has lost all confidence and can't be bothered to stand up for itself.

I didn't read any of the other replies, but it boils down to hyperreality. I'm too lazy to go into big detail, so I'm just gonna greentext it.

>drumpfler wins against all odds
>elites proceed to lose their shit and subject their minions to insane levels of 24/7 propaganda about the drumpf-reich being just like the 1930s
>this melts the minds of the plebs, and the ruling class even swallows their own poison
>fast forward to 2020, and the insane hysteria rumbling inside the minds of the propagandized cannot be contained
>floyd is the straw that breaks the camels back for the plebs. They go apeshit and destroy everything like some kind of zombie apocalypse movie
>the election gets the worst scum back into office, and they finally have an outlet for their own self-inflicted insanity -- they begin taking revenge against those they think are responsible for the rise in populism and drumpf (mainly whites and anything MAGA)
>because their brains were fried by drumpfs term, their actions since regaining power have reeked of incompetence, malice and insanity
