What the hell happened to cities?

So basically, more junkies need to die.

Well, that seems to be the position of our elites, yes.

I'm personally of the opinion that any plan that involves the deaths of a large number of people is, in fact, a bad plan, and I'd like to see us do better. That said, it's hard to see how that might be achieved.

In China, they generally just lock away or kill people like this. However, with the retarded or otherwise mentally disabled, it's very common for them to work at popup brick factories. There will be a block in a city without much going on, and an entrepreneur will set up shop there to make raw materials into bricks.

The people making bricks don't need any particular skills, don't need to stick to a schedule. They can make one brick or as many as they can. They get paid per brick.

When I'm in the city, sometimes I think of this.

These people need a legal way to work that doesn't inconvenience others and creates something that's actually needed, not subsidized by the government.

They'd probably just spend their earned money on drugs just like they do with their panhandled money, but it's a thought.

Go ahead idiots name one fucking city being destroyed you can’t because it isn’t happening you fucks.
Bruh you need to calm down. The destruction isn't instant. It's a slow and gradual decline, or decay as mentioned in the previous posts. Like it or not, it's a non trivial trend happening to many American cities. Destruction doesn't always have to be physical either. We undoubtedly have some kind of societal decay and decay in values. The narrative pushes for things like promiscuity and hedonism as perfectly fine. We also have major issues in family court operations like no fault divorces.

“oh it is slow and gradual you won’t actually see it because lol I made it up” yeah fuck you

Philadelphia, New York, LA, Miami etc. All significantly worse now than they ever were. Sure, they're growing but not in good ways. Homelessness and crime is out the ass. A higher population and more buildings doesn't mean a city is doing well. Gentrification is very much thing and when the hipsters leave, the communities just become homeless and druggie dens. There's simply not enough resources and space to go around. That's why they're all ready to die headfirst into the climate change/depopulation movement because their scope of reality is that the world is too filthy and overcrowded.

My city here in the Netherlands has actually improved a lot over the last ten years or so. It's an ongoing major rebuilding program in the centre of the city.

I think it's the economy. If a city doesn't invest and fix shit things will eventually go bad.

The #1 thing that happened, besides all the obvious shit, is housing prices and work from home shot up at the same time so all the people who COULD flee, fuckin' did.

By definition this leaves the people in the city shittier.

Clearly you've never been harassed by drug addicts, schizos, or a combination of the two when you're just trying to wait at the public bus stop just so you can get home after your shitty retail job.

The one time I was in S.F., the first thing I saw when I pulled into the main streets was a homeless guy who's legs were literally dry-rotting away. I had never seen such state of decay on a person while they were standing and walking no less. My fiance and I were fucking SCREAMING in the car we had no filter at that point. Point is, shut the fuck up retard I have witnessed too much, cities are fucked up.

I dunno, I live in a city with more than a million inhabitants and it's fine.

Basically urban decay, there is no reason to maintain shit since property prices are insane anyways, you also have the population either getting older or being replaced by third worlders (depending how based your country is) so culture slowly dies.
Add also urban renewal to the list. Projects of urban renewal did more harm than help like in Detroit and the Pruitt-Igoe in St. Louis.

Wherever crime is running rampant, look closely at those in office. Mayor. Police chief. Prosecuting attorney.
If there are a lot of criminals being let out with ankle monitors, is anyone actually tracking them or can they go wherever for several hours and no one will know?
Is anyone running for office that doesn't have an organized crime connection?

Fish stink from the head, or so I've heard.

The graffiti got worse during the lockdowns as did the trash. Although some places were always trashed up to some degree anyway. I believe it was because kids were out of school and people were out of work and couldn't go to bars or clubs so why not deface property?

Many people just sat or stood outside shuttered businesses all day. It was weird to see. They'd take their own booze, sit on stoops and there would be bottles and cups everywhere.

A lot of people around here got new beds with their Covid bux. There were old mattresses suddenly dumped everywhere. You are supposed to wrap them in plastic and then leave them on the curb for pick up. Pickup was delayed here and there but it wasn't that bad. There is literally no reason to dump mattresses in parking lots and the like. Lots of gross, stained mattresses. I guess no one has ever heard of mattress covers or training pants before.

The tent city junkies did get worse. The pandemic pushed more people over the edge with their addiction, leaving them homeless. Fentanyl is laced into everything now and the opioid epidemic really exploded. But it's also an expansion thing. They are migrating away from the places most of them came from.

I do my grocery shopping in a much better area. Not just because this is a food desert. But I also get sick of bums begging me for change and snack foods every time I enter or exit a store. Last summer I started noticing some grimy tent city junkies camping on the grounds of a medical center. This obviously did not fly. So they camped at the supermarket instead and were told to GTFO. So they started hanging out by a Wawa convenience store that I like to frequent.

I was hoping they'd be driven out of there too. But yesterday I went back to the supermarket to retrieve a lost umbrella, stopped at Wawa for coffee, and noticed someone had left groceries on top of the trash receptacle for anyone who needed them.

If you are not familiar, in many low income neighborhoods churches and charitable individuals will leave food at bus stops, stoops, on top of trash receptacles, newspaper boxes ect... for people that need it. I am not against this at all. But the area I shop in is nothing like the area I live in. But it's slowly creeping up and getting a bit seedy here and there. So if you feed these junkies it's like feeding stray cats. Now they'll never leave. I don't want to travel even further out just to shop without being harassed by people who smell like piss and don't know what planet they are on.

The rents are insane despite the poverty being high. It sure as hell doesn't help. But if you can't afford a shoebox in your city of birth you aren't going to be able to move out into the sticks either. I have no solutions. But I feel like it's a losing battle with the addicts at this point.
