What was an update that negatively impacted your enjoyment of a game?

For me it either when they added Loki or butchered Sun Wukong into Hun Batz. I know that's like uber early in the game's lifespan but for me it was the beginning of the end solely because they made the jungle into an actual role instead of a side objective you could enter and contest in your lane, which was an actual back and forth skirmish and not a faggy tower hugging affair because you couldn't account for the jungle role, and nuked the outer jungle lanes.

Made me swear off conquest entirely and play Arena, which in turn slowly frustrated me and I never touched the game since Osiris I think.
That is very early in the game, but I see your point. Its always back to DOTA2 and LoL, whatever they were doing ends up mimicked by the others. I liked Paragon when it first came out, because it was mostly ps4 players with a few pc players, and it was just carnage in mid all the time. sure the games when on for like an hour, but you would finish with close to 100 kills sometimes if you knew just a little about MOBAs. Crazy to think how things would have panned out if they all stopped following the leaders of the pack so much.

Ranked 2.0 killed Siege, what a retarded fucking update. Rank now means nothing, you can be in bronze and face champions and you never know if its a real champion or one of the thousands of .87 kd / .90 win loss champions that grinded hundreds of matches to get the highest rank even though they have the skill of a silver 4. It turned rank into a horrible grindfest and made every rank meaningless. Ranked 1.0 had its flaws but nowhere near as bad as this garbage Ranked 2.0 system that is universally hated by the community since its announcement.
Ever since they fucked Casual they killed the game for me. Which is a shame, I would've gritted my teeth to the two trannies they added in just for some good gameplay, but that was a step too far.

Cheating with this one as it was a game I never played because of the day 1 update. It put me off not just that game, but another game around the same time.

Pacific Drive.
The premise is it's the 90s and you drive an old estate car through an anomaly filled exclusion zone. Great. Got good reviews from various YouTubers. Then it released and the game was filled with troon and BLM flags. None of the pre-release players mentioned this, so I suspect this was added day 1. I didn't buy the game because of this.

A couple of big ones I've not played and surprised haven't been mentioned. Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade.
Helldivers 2 killed a bunch of good will and their player base by forcing people to use PSN.
Stellar Blade promised an uncensored game, then edited costumes and reduced blood effects in an early patch, with unused content on the disc implying others were cut. At the time the unpatched 1.0 disc version was the best way to play. I don't know if that is still the case.

Hunger meter in Minecraft. Good thing you can just mod it out or switch to an older version to mitigate that.
Especially since spawns were broken for like a year after adding it, so you could just spawn in a world with nothing to eat in a 20 min radius.

Minecraft updates have in general been meh to annoying, but the fucking elytra broke the goddamn game. Might as well just make the whole thing creative if everyone is just going to fly around like a fuck.

Flying mounts in WoW original are also some similar shit.

Multiplayer games I get it, but why are there balance nerfs in a single player game?
I understand it somewhat if they want to make more strategies and items/units viable, but you can do that with buffing not nerfing.

A lot of the games I was gonna mention have already been said so i'm going with a lesser known one.

SCP: Secret Lab was an f2p asymetrical mp game that came out like 7 years ago. It flew under the radar for a while until faggot youtubers caught wind of it and now every public server is full of power tripping discord groomers and the children they so desperately crave. Anyway, I used to play on the private /v/ servers until they went belly up and what was most notable about secret lab was the long time between updates and how badly each update wrecked the game. Entire mechanics would be removed from the game such as such as the the femur breaker for 106, or changes that seem to exist just for sake of it. The most egregious being the main devs obsession with turning the game into counter strike. There has been at least 4 weapon rework updates during the games lifespan. For comparison there has only been one new playable SCP added to the game... which was back in 2019, which has also been reworked twice because reasons.

Here is a comparison between the 173 model changes, I am largely indiffernt to his change but there was a lot of upset due to his 'classic' look being changed.

But by far the the worst update yet is the latest one which changed all the human player models, some of which are okayish but the most egregious is the MTF model change

Seriously, what the fuck is this shit?

I play this shit to relax and don't want to have to re-learn how to operate the game every time some fucknuts "balancing" update is pushed.
For fucking real, I tend not to update my Stellaris often because of it, I even stop the workshop updating my mods when I can. I remember when they removed the various FTL methods because that one blond cuck "personally" didn't like it and didn't give a fuck what anyone said, dev team or long time fans. And given how many "massive overhauls" they've done I see that he still does it.

Tax: The EoC update for Runescape. Buggy beyond belief, horrific balancing, crashed the Runescape economy, etc. Nice to see those faggots at Jagex get their teeth kicked in when their new "Runescape" did poorly while OSRS was still doing well. So well that they tried to fuck over OSRS various times and still are. I believe they're shoving ads into the game and incredibly greedy membership.
Damn straight son, funny I had the Civilizations thread open in another tab too.
GTA V: FOMO over vehicle purchase, good discounts / profit multiplier paywalled behind GTA+, BattleEye spyware yet again doesn't work against cheaters with paid mod menus and many nerfs slapped on Cayo Perico Heist.
GTA Online is a shell, honestly I think RDR Online dodged a bullet with its lack of updates with how fucked the updates for GTAO were. Nerfing grinding methods (new anti-tracking and anti-explosive upgrades, but not on vehicles for grinding transport missions because fuck you), overpowered nonsense to get you to buy shark cards, reducing the skill gap to cater to casuals while fucking long time players (railgun, P-996 Lazer, etc.), hell the Mercenaries update as a while was insanely awful and should've killed the game for anyone not cripplingly addicted to it. And it probably did.
Oh and as for the mod menus, lol I doubt most people with mod menus paid for them since there's a bunch of free websites like Unknowncheats.
SCP: Secret Lab
Oh wow I didn't expect to see this game again outside the SCP thread, even then I rarely ever saw someone mention it. I got banned way too many times lol, my favorite was reading out the "TND" copypasta (we were bantering in the dead chat and it got better and better), moderator and several people laughed their asses off and he even let me finish before going "I'm sorry but I gotta ban you or else I'll get fired." Forgot which server, players were usually based except for the pet terminally online troon ironically named "nicegirl" (they're universally hated). Haven't looked into the big latest update since I quit but judging by what you posted, I'm good.

It made my entire group stop playing. We would boot up the game after not playing for months, be the red starting rank as the visible rank and be facing champion players and have the most ridiculous sweat games possible, losing most of them because its insane to put people into the same MMR they were at with zero decay. They also showcased the schizophrenic sounding "phantom player" for people who played in groups because redditors complaining.

We used to play every season, get placed into gold and get to mid plat-diamond and have reasonable games, now we are all over it.

Everything about Rainbow Six Siege has gotten fucked, the characters, the ranked system, the guns. (All guns feel like shit now because of ads time nerfs and recoil nerfs)

I used to play Montagne constantly and aggressively get into gunfights with people, then they nerfed the ads speed, then they nerfed explosive resistance, then they made it so that if you are melee'd you cant pull your gun out or do anything, then they changed it so that you can't blindfire (which never did anything anyways), at some point they changed the ADS speed to be insanely slow, now I see in recent updates they made it so that if someone is melee attacking you a few times your entire shield flips up and you are exposed to be shot. They essentially took my favorite character in the game and made it so that there is only one viable playstyle which is plant strategies, which are fucking boring.

I also remember when they "buffed" kali which was actually a nerf because instead of downing everyone in one shot half the people take two.

They have been consistently making the game go downhill and reading the patchnotes is a complete joke with them going deeper and deeper into cracking down on "toxicity" which was never a massive issue in the game, people type mean things to each other and say mean things to each other, its an online game. Now they are going to enforce voice chat as well as text chat.

Its a fucking joke and I hope Ubisoft dies and someone else picks up the game, only now its so fucked that they would have to gut half the thing to get it to a tolerable state with all of the fucked characters like the new wheelchair character that controls robots, sens which is a massive black guy with a girl voice, the troon with the window shields etc.

I guess its not one update but years of bad updates that made everything worse and worse that killed my enjoyment of the game, you can only ignore so much before you look at the game and its a completely unrecognizable piece of shit compared to what you were playing half a decade ago.

One of the patches to League of Legends in 2016, which nerfed an item that you can place Wards for vision with, was enough for me to quit the game entirely. The game was already getting to the point that the "Patch every 2 weeks" cycle was changing the game so much that I couldn't keep up with it anymore.

World of Warcraft removing Single-Minded Fury (dual-wielding one-handers) in the Legion pre-patch also was one of the times that I stopped subscribing for the game.

The Hearthstone Weekly Quest change where the requirements were as much as tripled, i.e. Win 5 games -> Win 15 games, to only get 20% more XP, was enough to make me stop playing the game in the several times that I stepped away from that game.

Removing Symmetra's auto-aim LMB in Overwatch also made me give up on that game entirely.

The Sims 4 update that added pronouns and zippertits.

Had you still played the game after that, would the addition of lactation options in 2023 make you quit playing that game?

The UO expansions that started to just heavily clash with the original artstyle, samurai, elves, and then more shit after I already checked out.

Any update that nerfs weapons/abilities in a single player game.

This is especially baffling when it happens to rpgs since the whole appeal is starting out incredibly weak and then being a God by the end.

Multiplayer games I get it, but why are there balance nerfs in a single player game?
The fact that such updates are so widely unpopular makes them even more based. It takes a developer of integrity to take away all the EZ mode broken stuff even knowing the players will spaz over having to actually lern2play.
